India is a debtor nation thus you need foreign aid. Britain, being your colonial ruler, provides that. It's a duty of Britain to support the poverty stricken Indian people. Remember India has more poverty than Africa.

Indian dnt need to buy influnce of SL ...INdia is big country , strong military and an growing ecnomic power ... what i have learn over years, aid cant buy love ...In pakistan,most of the aid is provided by US, still almost 80 % people hate it ..same goes for afghanistan ... provide them trade opportunities, easy visas and promote bollywood their .. u will have enough influance ....

Brother foreign policy does'nt work on emotions, agreed America provides you aid and yet you hate them. But this aid does get the work done for America right. They don't care if the aam awam loves them or not. Similarly India competes with China in Africa, Sri lanka etc. in terms of aid.

No actually i have many indian frnds ..we use to hang out togather ...i just came back to pakistan ... I am supporter of indian pakistan relationship ..but to be honest, India is on back foot when it comes to relationship with Pakistan ... Now is the best chance for India, Government is very Pro india , oppostion , PPP and Imran Khan is Pro india ..Mullah got almost no seats ... Army didn't interfare in politics at all ... Actually these are 'gifts' when someone give gifts it isn't polite to refuse.

Most of these aids/money/loans are for develop the terrorism conflict effected areas, mostly Northern province. Most of developments are already finished in Eastern province and it is now tourism hot spot in Sri Lanka. GoSL is targeting to develop Northern province as an industrial zone. A lot of infrastructure developments happening right there now.

At the moment in Northern province,
China is busy with new roads layouts, India is busy with laying railway line. Pakistan also involved in some water supplying project and also there are some other countries Netherlands, Japan involved in projects in those areas.
