India rejects BYD's $1 billion factory proposal, Economic Times reports

It was probably a proposal to assemble vehicles from imported knocked down units, while trying to get subsidies and incentives from PLI schemes.

And CCP holds a stake in BYD, so probably that angle might have been evaluated too.
The more China has financial stakes in India, the lesser the chances of war or skirmishes. Trade and Commerce are killers of war so the reasons must be otherwise.

Perhaps, India is looking for a better deal from China.

Why don't they setup a factory in their deeper than Himalayas fren Pakistan or shonar Bongoland? :(
Let's assume 3% of 250 Million population in Pakistan which can be targeted vs 10%-15% of 1.5 Billion population ......... it's a no brainer really.

Tata and Tesla should be the std for India's EV. BYD is ok but can be allowed later in the cycle after local eco system is more mature at a higher std
Just curious. Tata also uses Chinese key components?

Good, hope India denies all Chinese investments in India, it's good for both countries.

Why not before elections?
Then these companies will join Soros gang to fund opposition in India. Opposition is always ready to recieve dubious money from the Chinese. May be they will ban them 2 months before election so that opposition doesn't get time to collaborate with these Chinese companies.

Pause that video @0.18 you will get your answer Mr. GreatHanJob
Hint: CyberOptics LNC60 isn’t Indian, nor is it Chinese. LMAO

Congrats Inovance China made a metal box.
