India refuses to soften its stand on China Pakistan Economic Corridor

China and Pakistan will benefit...primarily China...and that is India's benefit  ...one has to be moron to not get such a simple thing...:D

His words are like Chinese are like offering all concessions to India. My foot. First take care of Indian concerns in UN. I cant believe Chinese stooping so low to shield someone like Masood Azhar. He is not even important to them.

Why is it that China is always offering cooperation and concessions, just like when Zhou Enlai made an offer to recognise AP in 1960... and India is always rejecting these overtures in favour of aggression and conflict?

Why is it that the Chinese always think what's theirs is theirs and what belongs to others is negotiable ?

Why is it that the Chinese are so insecure that they insist the pre requisite to establishing diplomatic ties with PRC involves explicit recognition of a One China policy?

Why isn't such a measure reciprocated when it comes to dealing with India or any other state for that matter on the matter of a disputed border or a province or even a part of it?

Why is it that the Chinese have a poor opinion of Indian intelligence ? Why is it that they think they can unload their surplus steel , cement and power plants on India (not just the products but the plant itself a la CPEC )?

Why is it that the Chinese think after what happened in the UNSC on the Masood Azhar case or on Chinese demands on the NSG against Indian interested , We would be accommodating of the Chinese and their one sided proposals ?

Why is it that the Chinese think that inspite of enjoying a nearly 50 billion USD surplus in trade with India , we would be enthusiastic about a FTA with PRC or even be part of the OBOR ?

Why is it that in spite of being re buffed (India , as of tonight , isn't sending anyone to attend the grand OBOR summit in the PRC hosted by the CCP from the 15 th May onwards ) , PRC quite shamelessly and doggedly pursues it's invite to India coming with new proposals everyday which essentially is nothing but old wine in new bottle ?

Is it because , the Chinese think the real cream in the OBOR lies in India and that the rest ( SA , ME , etc ) is a mere side show ?

Well, we are already successfully unloading our surplus production in India, just recently we conquered the majority of the Indian smartphone market, let alone any other sector that involves manufactured products or materials.

So maybe China's assessment of Indian intelligence, to use your phrasing, is pretty much on the mark?

See the thread title for instance. It looks as if China was the one who was offering a compromise, and India was the one rejecting it (again).

When China offered to let India join CPEC, we offered to let India have a real say (and effective veto power) over what we do in Indian-claimed areas of Kashmir. Now India has rejected that, sounds smart.

My little child , are you aware of the cycles in which world works ? From harmony to disharmony to anarchy and chaos .Where do you think your ancestors got this philosophy from ? It certainly wasn't Confusian .And if inspite of dominating East Asia culture , religious sphere and economy so thoroughly for the nearly 2-3 millennia of recorded history , Buddhism finds millions of adherents among the Chinese but neither Confucianism now Daoism a single adherent among Indians, what makes you think all this will change overnight ?

Hence , while Chinese smartphones do enjoy an edge in the Indian market place today , it's a 3-4 year old phenomenon .The very same Chinese have had absolutely abysmal sales in the consumer durable sector , in spite of being here for more than 2 decades.

Who cares what and how news headlines are phrased ? In the free world , with hundreds of publications , media personnel opt for sensationalism .That is known to everyone in the free world. Coming as one does from your parts , you may take the written word for gospel , coming as it does and if it does from an "official " source .

Finally , thanks for your offer but you can take it and stick it up yours or/and that of your iron brother's .That's what the Indian Government has been trying to tell you .In polite language .

Good.

We made the offer, that's what counts. And it was India who rejected it, so they have officially given up their chance to have any say over CPEC.

I agree. It's like a 3 year old having a hissy fit. China is pleading like a parent for India to see reason. But India regards Chinese overtures as weakness. That is an attitude of a three year old in international diplomacy.

Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory. Just like South Tibet. Taiwan/China is a civil war. You need to know the difference.

I need to distinguish between a disputed territory vs none disputed territory. I'd India does not, its action won't be different than a 3 year old kid having hissy fit.

My point is that as India in regard to CPEC is behaving like a 3 year old having hissy fit, China and Pakistan should understand this childish behavior.
Russell Peters says, "you need to beat the kid" :D

Thank you for the brief response .

We did approach the Chinese for their support in the UN SC against Masood AZHAR and the NSG too.

Your response there or rather the lack of it has prompted this response. Actually , had you been supportive of even one of those causes , the Modi Govt would've been caught in a bind .But , from what has been coming out in the press , there wasn't even a cabinet meeting chaired to consider Zhongguo's "proposals ". They dismissed it wirh the nonchalance that one would while breaking wind . That's the importance this govt attaches to your OBOR.

On behalf of the GoI , let me take the opportunity to thank Zhongguo for simplifying the Indian Government's work . Rather insolent , I personally think .But then , when has any Indian ever done the kow tow in Zhongguo ?

So, due to the Mazhoor and NSG issue, India has decided in turn to do us a big favor and voluntarily surrender their seat, voice and effective veto power over the CPEC project? Sounds good. :enjoy:

well look t it this way due to chinese constant support to pakistan and its support to anty india terrorists like masood azahar and repeated chinese VETO against indian entry to NSG now no matter what chinese want or do India will never ever be part of any Chinese OBOR initiative or let its land or sea port facilities be used for any Chinese economic project or be part of any chinese led mratime security pact .... period no matter what might be potential gain Thanks but no Thanks China Got IT @faithfulguy & @Chinese-Dragon :coffee:

OBOR: We want to trade through your country. We will give you loans and grants to build roads, Infrastructure and ports on the condition that these would be built by our companies employing our people, while you would give protection and tax exemptions to our companies at your own cost (basically you would be giving our money, given as interest bearing loans to you, back to us without any tax incidence, and spending your own money while doing so). Once built, you will give us exclusive rights to operate those infrastructures, pay us royalty/toll to use that and pay back our loan (with interest) as well. If you are not able to service your loan, we will turn the debt into equity and basically would turn the whole corridor as an extension of our own territory. And I promise you, it will be a game changer to "your" economy.

OBOR for India: You are growing, but no match to us. Do not interfere in any part of "your" country which we "believe" is ours, let go of your claim on territory which we are controlling, let go of your claim on the territory disputed with other countries too because we are building roads there. Basically, do what we want, just like the puppet countries on your west, south and east. Or you will be isolated.

India for OBOR: heck, yeah! thanks, but no thanks. Better be isolated than being sold out. Would rather do trade deal individually with each country, including you. Many belts many roads - tiring, but independent.

Let China get fully invested in Pakistan. USA Pakistan love affair is over and replaced with SinoPak deeeeeep brotherhood. Give it 10 years, till the Pakistanis start talking about how China oppresses Muslims. Agar Afghanistan daldal hai toh Pakistan is the deep bottomless pit.

Don't you guys understand, if India joined CPEC then it would push the narrative that nobody can do anything in Indian-claimed Kashmir without Indian involvement, basically a recognition of India's claims there. China was offering a big win to India, but India of course turned it down.

The narrative is clear Pakistan has illegally occupied Some part of Kashmir, And India cannot be part of something where illegally occupied territory is involved with Indian claim.

Only way where it works is if Pakistan vacates and hands over AJK and GB, then India can be part of ORBR/ CPEC, and contribute constructively.
