India readies for full-fledged test of indigenous ICBM

I think India should develop ICBM, as Chinese I dont really care since your Agni 5 is already cover the entire China, an ICBM wont make any difference, since US and the western Europe were jumping of Joy when India claimed Agni 5 as China's killer, now it's their turn to taste their own medecine...when ever Indian design an ICBM can reach US...i will open Champagne for all.

Thing is that if you look at India's development program, there is no set limit to the range. India has steady increased the range and capabilities of its missile over the years depending on threat perception. First it was Pakistan, but now since Agni 1&2 and the other MRBM already cover all of Pakistan we have had to move to newer and more posing threats which is China, India is still developing the capability to hit China, since Agni 5 is still not operational with the armed forces and the canister version will only have its first test by the end of the year, not to forget that the test for MIRV are still yet to be done. So it would take a good 2 years in my opinion for the Agni 5 to come into service and for India to have the capability to hit anywhere in China. As for the Europe and the US, currently they are not aggressive towards India so there is no plans from India's side to develop a missile that would pose a threat to EU or US, but when Arihant and it's subsequent class of ships enter service they might give the wrong idea to the people abroad.

We dont need expensive canon to kill a fly, a long range cheap rocket will be sufficient to deal with India, 350km for New delhi

Now it has become rather easy for them to design and develop new missiles on account of that knowledge.

In under a decade you will have BM's that will be able to target Europe in entirety. Weapons do not start getting developed when you see threatening signals. Weapons are developed before hand.

Post Agni 6, you will see a true blue ICBM being developed.

In India we already have the know how to develop these missiles, whether to hit Europe or any part of the world. Case and point being ISRO, we already posses the technology, the reason that we don't built them is because then it starts to bring unwanted attention. Just look at the launch of Agni 5 and the amount of unwanted publicity it generated. We have the technology, the thing we lack is political will.

The point is whether the public in those countries and the political power consider us as a threat or not. People in EU and US don't consider India as a possible enemy simply because of our non-aligned actions in the past decades, also the point being that we have a huge diaspora in these places which makes it easier for us to be perceived as a friendly nation towards them, not to mention that we haven't really done anything that would being bad rep towards us. The problem with Iran is that they have been in bad relations with the west for decades now, so for them to make ICBM or nuclear weapons would generally won't sit well with the west.

India has already tested Agni-5 before and in retaliation all you tested is Nasr.
FYI-India is very soon going to test Agni-6 which has even greater than Agni-5.

Nice decoy to build ICBMs with an excuse for China. Nasr is enough to wipe out fast advacing forces at short distances at 100 km.
