And it has nothing to do with political system.
ML China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Japan each has its own unique political system, yet they all managed to curtail poverty when their economy grew, whereas India has worsened during these years of high growth.
Democracy is not to blame. At the risk of starting a flame war, I'm inclined to point at Indian culture for justifying this inequality. As for how exactly, I need Indian members' enlightened, honest, & unbiased assesments.

Nation development has very little to do with ideaology. So called Democracy or Communism are all coverups. At end the day, its all about people pursuing better prosper life.
