How has this affected India-Russia relations? Care to elaborate?



Poor choices?! How?! How has relations with the US or Israel affected India negatively?
As far I can tell, things are on the up and up for India from an economic and military perspective. Both are directly related to better trade and relations with western countries, (US and Israel included)

So tell us again how this was a poor choice? Because Pakistan became the whipping boy of the US? lol

This is the worse choice India could make. India is no longer considered a neutral country when it comes to international arena after going in alliance with US. If india wasnt too close to US , border incident with China wouldnt have happened. Relations between Russia and India would not have strained. India also faced grave humiliation both at BRICS ( where all members of organization refused to involve terrorist organization names) and second when Russia refused to cancel military exercises with Pakistan soon after terrorist attack happened in India. AT the same time india is so confused, they gave red carpet to Netanyahu and next we see Modi in Palestine hugging Abbas.

I have named few, the list is never ending.

Just because Russia is improving relations with Pakistan (for its own interests, and not for any love for Pakistan in particular) does not mean India-Russia relations are nullified.
That is PDF logic, which even logic would reject.

Diplomacy is not a zero sum game.
Russia, Pakistan and India have the right to engage each other and other countries for their own interests. Period!

Engines are not even a wesponof any sort.
More importantly Russia has not directly sold a single engine to Pakistan directly. All were first purchased by China & then handed over to Pakistan, since the rear fuselage of JFT is still built in China.

Based on what information? What news or statements from world leaders, bodies etc that suggests that India is not considered neutral?
And what alliance with the US? Care to share details of such a formal alliance that Pakistanis know of that Indians don't?

I ask you again, where is the strain in relations? How has India been affected negatively by this supposed strain?
Being friends with Pakistan is not automatically a strain in India-Russia relations.
If Russia was actively trying to hurt India (say by proposing to put it on a terror grey list) then maybe a case could be made.

Engines are the heart of any fighter. It is not like Russia does not know the end user.

I think what Russia is expecting and what Pakistan is expecting from their growing relationship are not the same. Pakistan thinks that it can turn Russia against India. How? I have no idea.

If that's how Pakistan see's diplomacy, no wonder it's in this state. What is this so-called trust? Did India sell any Russian secrets? Russia is friend of China, so did India ever objected it? Our relation with one country do not work based on the interest of another country. S-400 stuff is laughable though.

Anyways the recent Russian statement made it clear Russia Pakistan defence cooperation is strictly limited to counterterrorism which means Pakistan will only get weapons which are of little or no threat to India.
