India Please Don’t Sign LEMOA

Answer for this psot is lying in your own first post .US dont care Asian nations ,since they are thousands miles away .US can easily hire some other states like Pakistan if they want .Nuclear and still only confined inside in South Asia.

You are wrong this deal would be nullified during war time .But during peace time Indian Navy can use these facilities tremendously .After all we have one of the major navies in the world with two CBGs and ever evolving modernization .Means we can use these bases for joint survelliance .

First of all USA is handing over all Bases back to Kabul gradually and secondly in first instance no US Base in Gulf has direct significance with regards to Pakistan, plus do U really think that any Gulf country wud actually allow India to launch an attack from their soil on Pakistan? By this deal India wud get permission to use those Bases for logistical support etc but entry to those Bases would in any case be governed by rules of entry in the Air Space of that country. Just for example if there is any xyz Base of US in Qatar so under this deal India can access that Base but for that to happen they ll have to enter the air space of Qatar and get permission from Qatar for that entry first. Previously India en route to any foreign exercise wud use set ups of these same countries but only change now is that they wud b able to use US set ups in countries en route to final destination if any.
but india can surely use them in peace time and can use it for its power projection in middle east which ultimately can damage pakistani influence .... which already is damaged ..... moreover the US base in qatar can be used to block strait of hormuz if will be used by indians our main naval concern should be keeping india strictly out of the gulf

This deal is for logistical support, not for deployment and operation. Why wud Qatar and as a matter of fact any Gulf country allow India to block Strait of Hormuz or any thing like that. Right now PN, PAF etc are also regularly visiting almost all Gulf countries as so is IN, IAF etc. Only difference after this deal wud be that we wud continue to be using facilities of these countries but after this deal IN,IAF etc wud be allowed to use US facilities there if any. U still didnt get the point.

you are right i am confused with logistic support ..... what does this means in this context can you elaborate??

It means refueling, servicing, taking supplies and things like that.

so IAF wont be able to operate from this base but can do everything else ..... as in supplies
No they can not launch strikes from these Bases without the permission of the country these Bases are in.

This development is a step towards "China containment policy." It is not aimed for Pakistan.

Absolutely True.

There was a time when Pakistan thought that being part of SEATO and CENTO would help it counter India only to get disappointed and realize later that those agreements were targeted at countering USSR and not India.

Now people are hoping that LSA would help India use US bases to counter Pakistan. Highly delusional.

Agreements are always written to favor the bigger power (in this case, the US). India would have to reconcile to the fact that they would be playing second fiddle.

US policy for the 70 years has been to balance the relationship between India and Pakistan to ensure that US has both influence and leverage on both the nations. US would never support one vs the other in Indo-Pak scenario.

The NDA government is about to sign on a logistics exchange agreement a.k.a LEMOA (Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement), which is a tweaked version of LSA (Logistics Support Agreement) which facilitates the provision of logistical support, supplies and services between the US military and the armed forces of partner countries. Under such an agreement, the two sides can access supplies, spare parts and services from each other’s land facilities, air bases, and ports, which can then be reimbursed.

Whether one likes it or not, Modi's government would sign all the foundational agreements. At the end of the day BJP is a West leaning party. There is hardly any opposition left to oppose such a move by Modi. Congress is on it's death bed stuck in the web of scams and sycophancy.
