India pilots in mid-air 'scuffle'

The cockpit left unmanned for minutes while the flight was over Pakistan. Imagine if Karachi radar had called the flight and after getting no response, a pair of Mirages was scramble to intercept the Scuffled Indian Airbus.

The AI crew not only put the lives of passengers in danger while the punch-up was going onboard but also could create an unnecessary diplomatic tussle between the two countries if the fighters were scrambled. And in the end theirs truly lovely Indian media would have blamed Pakistan for everything....as usual !

Very poor show by Air India. And next time you guys want to punch each other, please do it outside Pakistans airspace.

P.S. Perhaps the whole thing went like this

Lol that was a nice take X_Man. Btw, your interpretation of scrambling PAF Mirages is unfeasible because before entering any sovereign airspace all aircraft have to identify themselves as civilian or military by giving codes to the ATCs. The aircraft are then followed closely by ATCs till they exit the airspace. Whatever happens on board the aircraft is not exactly the ATCs responsibillity.
Oh, btw thank those people who invented autopilots!

How safe is flying over Afghanistan in commercial airline?
Could NATO or US may hit any fligt originating from Iran or Turkmenistan, by mistake or out of hate?
US already have track record of shooting down one civilian air bus over persian gulf.

International flights fly usually at 40-42,000 ft and domestic ones fly at 30-35,00 ft. Pretty safe. Military authorities cannot just take out civilian airliners for there will be huge implications. Accidents happened and god forbid, may happen again.

Thanks, for the support... when ever i travelled to west by chance i laways took the flight via middleast, so never had a any chance until recently...
I was flying from some where around Turkmanistan to Lahore and whole flight was over Afghanistan and my heart remained in my throat all the flight. on the way back i did not had the courage to take same route hence i change my flight plans again via dubai.
All because of my knowledge about US marines history of shooting commercial liners.
I took many pictures from sky of Afghanistan land, flight was flying at low altitude.

Oh, btw thank those people who invented autopilots!
I don' tthink cabin can be left unattended for long, while on auto piliot.

Of course all commercial flights enter ones airspace after clearance BUT that doesn’t exempt them from not having positive two way radio contact throughout the flight.

I said in my post that what if Karachi Radar had called them ( for any reason e.g traffic information, course change, weather alert etc etc ) and got no response from the crew .They perhaps would have called them twice again and if still no response then it would have raised some eyebrows in Air Defence sector HQ. I admit that a scramble would have been ordered as a last resort but why to take a chance?

It’s a sigh of relief that the knocking out contest remained within the bounds of aircraft and its effects didn’t spill outside. Had the R/T contact not established soon, this drama could have taken any twist. A very unprofessional display by Air India pilots.

As per commercial flying regulations for a two man cockpit, both pilots should be seated and strapped during takeoff / landing/emergency. However during cruise, only one pilot can leave flight deck at a time for physiological reasons. Even with Auto Pilot engaged, it’s absolutely prohibited that both pilots leave their stations at the same time.

^^^^^X_Man, thanks for clearing that out. Yup that was very unprofessional of AI pilots. And to top it all they all keep going on strikes for bigger paychecks!! Those idiots shouldn't be allowed near any cockpits whatsoever, ever again!
