What's new

India on the Eve of British Conquest

The looks of an individual is determined by only a dozen or few dozen genes...

Yes Jatts of Haryana have the highest steppe percentage....But they also tend to have a higher Ancient Ancestral South Indian percentage, which determines their looks

The sum of Steppe percentage plus West Asian agriculturist percentage in Pashtuns and others in the Indus region is higher than the corresponding sum in India, eventhough the ones in India have a higher pure Steppe percentage

It seems 5-10 percent higher AASI component can drastically change looks

The purest Aryan group in South Asia remains the Kalash group..They even to this day follow a religion that would be considered ancestral to even the Vedas....They stopped in outside mixing by 600 BCE...This is why I thank the Durand Line the most...without the Durand Line the Kalash on the side of Pakistan would have met the same fate as the Kafiristanis did in 1890s

Like Kashmiris who have higher AASI (only a bit higher) and much less steppe then Ror look more like pashtuns. And even pashtuns despite living further west have less central asian steppe then Ror. So its not just AASI. Maybe environment and natural selection played important role. Another thing to consider is west asian and steppe maternal lines drastically decreases as one move east. So for Ror/UP jat groups gene flow was mostly through males.

Technically apart from Ror/jat, rest of Indians have much less steppe then majority of Pakistanis. We tend to have higher west asian agriculturists %. How did Ror get so much steppe despite living hundreds of miles east? And from who?

much more fertile land ..therefore more moved there....be it Aryans or later ones lke Indo-Scythians,Kushanas,Indo-Greeks etc. but mainly Aryans..it is just that they may have recombined with AASI very early within present Indian borders...and the process may have happened much later on further out West

I wrote about the seperation in looks between coterminous India and coterminous Pakistan happening 2,200 years back itself..coterminous Pakistanis only felt kinship with those Indians that looked like them and not with the rest...This is not some "new PDF only racism" ...I wrote extensively about it here..more exact pinpointd references, then you would have to dig up my very first post on PDF---the one that contented India and Pakistan seperation is atleast 1600 years old

also the Battle of Ten Kings and the subsequent Varshagira Battle are founding events in Vedic History.the victorious Bharata tribe had its home base at Haryana...That battle represented the final break of Indo-Iranians into Indo-Aryans and Iranians....It is amazing to think that battle happened at the banks of Ravi..The defeated Iranians would go onto found Zoroastrianism and term Aryans Devas as their evil Daevas...and Aryan Asuras as their good Ahuras .....Iranians would not launch another attack into the Ravi-Indus region for another 1,000 years till the Achaemenids...this would be my final post here

when i come back end of the year ..I would make comprehensive posts with detailed references regarding the following subjects:

1) Formation of Indus Identity pre-Islam and How Looks played a part

2) Why was there not a strong empire to defend the subcontinent during the Turkic attacks of late 12th century

3) History of the Battle of Ten Kings and Varshagira Battle

4) How Zoroastrianism was born after this battle and its split and opposition to Vedic religion

It is because of such differences of opinion that I don't discuss history.

I generally talk about how should humanity be in the near-future and the future, i.e. governed by Socialism.

Not just that. The position is a tired old hack and deserves to be discarded without further waste of time. It is based entirely on a narrowly focussed reading of the term India as a reference to a Westphalian nation-state, and it completely ignores the social and cultural aspects. We have to ascribe this Procrustean approach to the influence of the politics of religious identity, and discard any genuine historical foundations for it.

It also begs the question: India was emphatically not a British term.

LOL.

Intensely speculative, but such interesting speculations! If I am around when you return, and still logging into PDF every month or so, it is apparent that there is a feast in store.

PS: There is a lot to say to you on the subject of co-terminous, but it does look like you have run out of time, and I am running out of it rapidly.
