India offers Bangladeshi MiG-29s and Mi-17 upgrade

We all understand what India wants very well. BD will not be a country like Nepal, Bhutan or Srilanka who feel safe sitting under Indian defence blanket.
Well worded sentence. Are you implying India wants BD to be .. sorry .. what exactly do you mean by that "Country like SriLanka" thing? .. can you rephrase please?

In this sensitive time, India came up with the idea that we should send all our fighters to them, so that they could take care of them. How funny and immature
.
I really dont know "What" sensitive time you are talking about. But yes, i do care about what exactly do you mean when you say "India came up with a Idea that we send ALL OUR fighters". Did we really say we will take care of them? Strange. Also ..Beats me what was funny about that though. Oh sorry. I forgot. Strategic. We fear the deadly capabilities of BAF. Oh god. You busted us (Again!). Oh how we would have loved to hack those embedded codes in your fighters. That was our last hope of beating BAF in air....Maybe next time .....God shall help us.

BD need enough deterrance as it opens up more so that it could deal with india in equal terms.
Eh? You always were Equal to ANY other country in the world. What makes you think otherwise?

You are a good man Paritosh as well as your PM. But you or your PM's goodness not going to change the psychology on the ground. We all understand what India wants very well. BD will not be a country like Nepal, Bhutan or Srilanka who feel safe sitting under Indian defence blanket. We are still debating whether India should be given access to our ports and whether we will be able to say no once they started using it. In this sensitive time, India came up with the idea that we should send all our fighters to them, so that they could take care of them. How funny and immature. BD need enough deterrance as it opens up more so that it could deal with india in equal terms.

Take it easy....

You need to reduce whatever you are taking a notch or too..

What do you think, it will put Bangladesh under Indian security blanket, or India will sabotage the ACs??
Be rational. It wont effect India a bit, while improve relations with Bangladesh, who would be the beneficiary in this trade.

No it wont put BD under Indian security blanket but the intention is clearly there. And for your kind information, this kind of request will not improve the relation rather decrease it.

Dont need to rephrase. It was well phrased before.

I was talking about BDs internal politics. And ofcourse, giving a transit to a foreign country is a sensitive issue here while you are surrounded by a country from 3 sides. You never know what liese ahead. I dont oppose transit but BD should have enough capability so that it can say NO if deem necessary in the future. Dont forget Panama and Suez canal conflicts. Migs are not an issue here, they are junk anyways.

Eh? You always were Equal to ANY other country in the world. What makes you think otherwise?

Yes we are, that is why we are building in every front including army with a global vision as like as India. Dont worry.

.
You are right, It wont effect India a bit, but will effect BD as it will increase BDs capability in multiple of different fronts. Its very important.

You did not understand my point did you?

Honestly speaking,

I cant to the life of me understand what BD has to gain by keeping Military ties cold.
I can see a future a slightly distant future i admint where we make our own JV UCAV called the Desi-fighter much like the Euro fighter

That's just me i see a better future if we work together. India and BD can be natural allies, if both sides work at it.

But if you feel your defense needs can only be addressed if you keep guns pointed at us. well that's your choice.

What me and other Indian members are trying to say is, There are positive outlooks if BD chooses to work with us.

This Upgrade offer is just a small step down a much longer road.

Lets just hope the decision makers in BD aren't as high, and have a foresight. Some times I wonder, why, in the whole world do we have neighbors like this!!

Don't be so arrogant, we are partly to blame for the relations with our neighbors. we are not Innocent but neither are day, so tossing blame around is really pointless

Frankly its been like this since 1980's.
Its been 3 decades. Finally there are no active wars in the region.
Perfect time to improve relations

Yeah, I aknowledge it was our policies in past that created the hostile nature in our surrounding. Now when we are trying to improve, they wont. Even when it favors them. I understand we will be seen with suspicion. Yet, the benefits must overrun wariness.

I understand that it is easy to ruin a relation than to improve it. It would be hard to make our +ve image in average BD citizen. But govt. should not be that rigid, considering how international politics go..

We are a fast developing nation. Having ties with us now should bring fruits very soon. Economy should be ruler now, it defines the future.

  • Fear knocked on the door.
  • Earth felt the wound;
  • My computer hates me.
  • The camera loves me.
  • Opportunity knocked on the door.
  • The sun greeted me this morning.
  • Snow had wrapped a white blanket over the city.
  • Time never waits for anyone.
  • Trees were dancing with the wind.
  • The radio stopped singing and continued to stare at me.
  • The flowers were crying for my attention.
  • The moon seemed to smile at me from the sky.
  • The flowers begged for water.
  • The house was lazy and unkempt.
  • Lightning danced across the sky.
  • The carved pumpkin smiled at me.
  • The wind whispered softly in the night.
  • The sun played hide and seek with the clouds.
  • The stars winked at me.
  • The headlights winked.

Now tell me how fear knocks? How earth feels? How computer hates? How camera loves? How flowers cry and beg? Can you explain these literally?

Nope! This is not possible explain literally but if you consider the imagery meaning then you will understand. So when you can't understand anything by its literal meaning then consider the imagery meaning for better understanding about what other people want to make you understand.

Whatever differences India and Bangladesh currently have can be solved through constructive dialogue. It will be better for both countries to settle their differences in a friendly manner and work together towards economic growth.

This offer is India extending a hand of friendship and cooperation to BD. If BAF feels the offer is not worth taking up, they can negotiate for terms more acceptable to them. If neither can come to an agreement, atleast it will be on a friendly basis.

But on the other hand, if BAF is to reject it without even considering, then it is like slapping aside a hand offered as friendship.

Nothing personal mate. Bangladesh doesn't perceive bharat is a friendly or well wiser of BD for many reasons beside religin. We can work together in economic devolopment but bharat needs to back off from pursuing defence cooperation with us because the reason only best known to us.

I don't even think that recent bd-bharat agreements will see the light because Awami leauge already facing barricade by opposition that can lead awamis early exit if insist thus awami it self is taking pre-caution about whole deal with bharat.

Can you give a little details about it?
What I am seeing this is that BD will send few ACs and money to india. They will be upgraded, and returned to BD. Is there a subtext I am missing?

I understand your point. But if you read carefully on my earlier post you should have the answer. BD did show enough gesture that it wants a improved relationship and addressed India's concern. But like any other democracy it has to deal with many internal dynamics and mistrust is always there. Jumping from economic front to military front is too quick of a call when in the last 35 years there had been not a single defence co-opreation. We still have burning disputes over border, sea boundary and BSF killing and abduction. It will take a long walk before BD could send its fighter to India for overhauling.

Is it really??? Or its just saying "Why does BD needs Mig anyways". :disagree:

Check your hand first, and see whether any spit in it....

Thanx to India for the offer, any way-Is this the only and most easy way to warm the relation:confused: when we have many stress matter to resolve.

As long i know our MiG-29 has to crush history after upgraded by Ukraine. So.....:lazy:

It look likes one offered me a surgical treatment whom I don't have enough confidence.:undecided:
