Did INDIA Neglect Julia Gillard ?

What do you call three day visit of Australian PM Julia Gillard ?
---Pathetic , Woman hardly noticed by Indians in this visit .

Australian PM Julia Gillard was on 3-day visit of India , But in these 3-day Indian major Newspapers didn’t notice much her , She was in Electronic media for Wrong reasons (embarrassing tumble as she laid wreath at Gandhi's grave ).

Pathetic attempt to impress Indians ?

It was not long ago Australia refused to uranium trade by their own with India(they declared by their own). But it didn’t affect India much , India already started uranium production in Andhra Pradesh , Russia, France, Kazakhstan provided Uranium to India. Even India offered help to Kazakhstan for developing uranium mines. Fully functional production from mines in Andhra Pradesh will provide 34% uranium of Indian need in next few years . At this point Australia realized it’s mistake, Australia government felt insecure to lose One of the biggest uranium market in world . This visit was totally to impress India to purchase uranium .

Order of Australia To Sachin was part of that ?

This Award is for the Australian people , in very rare case it goes outside . According to experts this award is part of international politics “it’s pathetic attempt to impress Indians ” a cricketer who is very beloved for Indians.

Glad you are not running our foreign policy. A little more humility and a little less grandstanding won't hurt.

Put it simple, India needs Australia more than Australia needs India.

Really !! how?? I dont see Bharat Ratna being given to Steve Waugh or Julia Gilard!

India needs Uranium and it will be happy if it gets from Australia. But if we dont get, still we are going to survive as we have diersified our sources. Rite now Australia needs Indian money in either mining business or in the form Student inflow..

so u r wrong!! rite now.. Australia needs India...

One is surprised at this post.

What did one expect from her - to be seen on KBC ?

She came for a purpose & thats been achieved.

As regard the award, its for the Aus Govt to decide. Their awarding Sachin does not ' impress' Indians. In any case , it was not given to impress anyone.

As mentioned by a poster - humility does not do harm.

Really?? What does India need Australia for? Australia is like an old woman in a bikini. Everyone sees it's down there, but no one's interested!!

it's not about tumbling at Gandhi's grave , Indian Newspaper wasn't much curious on visit of PM of one country , News papers like Times of India ,Hindu, express didn't give much importance to her visit in coverage ,(they were much focused on Kejriwal , Khurshid etc,)

Put it simple, India needs Australia more than Australia needs India.

If that was the case than the Australians wouldn't have change there policy as an exception to India & come running at the Indian doors to sell there Uranium. Australians understand these things that they need India more than vice-versa b'coz of the following:

1. Indian nuclear industry is about to get an exponential jump, not participating in it will only be self defeating, it's the question of huge $$$$$ & no country would like to say no to it, just for the sake of there old obsolete policies.

2. Indian Navy is the stabilizing force in whole of Indian ocean, & it is slated to take a huge jump, working in parallel with the IN is the right decision for the security of Australia itself.

3. Indian economy is booming, as predicted it is to become one of the 3 largest economy in 2 decades time while Australian economy is saturating, only a fool would not like to better it's relationship with one of the future powers.

4. China factor is also influencing Australian policy vis-a-vis India, with Chinese Navy becoming more & more asserting in the SCS & Pacific ocean, Australia is trying to hedge it's own security by engaging with 2 powerful nations i.e. India & the US, US has already increased it's presence in Pacific & Australia itself, now Australia is turning towards India.

Not cool.

Even if Obama had come he would not have as much press these days......reason -- we all know why.

India and Aus..both need each other and its good sense they are coming together.

Tapping Indian market will create jobs for Australia: Lindsay Fox

MELBOURNE: As Australia and India embark on an ambitious plan to double two-way trade to $40 billion by 2015, a business magnate here has said that tapping the Indian market can create jobs and prosperity for Australia.

Lindsay Fox, who runs billion dollar trucking and logistic firm and led the Australian trade delegation during Prime Minister Julia Gillard visit to India this week, said the country with a booming economy and population of 1.2 billion had a great potential to create jobs and prosperity for Australia.

"We're in the right spot at the right time and we've all got to be smart enough to capitalise on it," Herald Sun quoted him as saying.

"That's a hell of a lot of tomatoes, bananas, cows, sheep or anything that we can produce in Australia," he said.(desperate Australians :lol: )

Fox further said that there will be 100 million new people every year with money ready to buy things - five times Australia's population.

Apart from that there were only handful of Australian business leaders doing businesses in India.

ANZ head Mike Smith, who was also part of the business delegation, said he believed that there was already a "can do" spirit of goodwill between the two sides.

Gillard, in her 3-day official visit to the subcontinent, announced enhancing economic relations with India.

She said the two countries have set a goal of doubling bilateral trade to $40 billion by 2015.

"We have already set a goal of $40 billion trade in 2015 -- in other words, our trade could double by 2015," she said, adding that currently the trade between the two nations was growing at 13 per cent a year.

"In recent years, our economic relationship has grown stronger. Two-way trade has grown at 13 per cent per annum in the past five years. Indian investment approvals in Australia grew last year alone to over 11 billion dollars.

"This is a one hundred-fold increase from 10 years ago," Gillard said.

The Australian Prime Minister is expected to unveil a White Paper on Australia in the Asian Century, a blueprint for the nation's strategic and economic engagement with the region.

Idiotis posts such as this particular gem makes me wonder if India even deserves a moment in the sun.

We can use all the help and goodwill we can possibly get. Before you try and act superior please remember that this country has the largest number of dirt poor humans in the entire goddamn world.

A little bit of humility won't hurt.
