While Mohandas Pai leans to the right, I agree with quite a few things he says in the vid.
(1) Eight million graduates every year from the typical Indian colleges - Out of this significant number only a few have the skills required. For example, a young chap I knew had computer science as part of his graduate course. There was a significant section in the course about operating systems, for whose demonstration Linux was used. Now logic says that if the number of computer science graduates who learn operating systems basics every year are, say, half a million, we should have at least a thousand different basic or full fledged operating systems every year, but we don't have such a result. Why?? One reason is that it is rare for a student to think outside the box. Secondly, the college doesn't provide any research into fundamental and innovative stuff.
(2) Halwai waala opening university. Yes, there should be nothing objectionable in a Halwai waala opening university in conjunction with public authority because in the end, education should be a free service.
(3) Educated woman has less children. Correct.
(4) One crore rupees needed to be spent on a child from birth to college graduation - unfortunate.
