What's new

India must find a face-saving pretext and withdraw from Doklam

Don't be Hypocritical. India was always part of any discussion of border dispute between Bhutan and China.

That's how it works. To make sure that Bhutan won't get overpowered by expansionist China.

Now, if the Dispute is between Bhutan and China. Bhutan army requested Indian army presence. So, you can shovel up the argument that issue being bilateral.
the 24 round border talk between china and bhutan were bilateral talk. only Bhutan cant decide for themselve because of india interference.
Bhutan gov/army havent requeste Indian army to presence in doklam.
if bhutan make a annoucement that they invite india there(that will never happen), fine we will back.

That's a moral argument from China's perspective.

But you interfered in Korean War. Quite briefly. So, the Morale argument is null.

India is trying not to endanger it's own security. So, we will put some pressure on Bhutan to not bend to China's will. Don't tell me you don't use such kind of influence for your interest.

China should use this opportunity to recover arunachal pradesh if they are able to justify through UN and domestic audience that its indian invasion..

Do the strong guy left your home or new strong guy came?

. . . .
it is true, but the trouble is not about the area is disputed or not.
dispute is between china and bhutan
and bhutan havent asked indian to come there.not publicly.

the following prozess could be
first step we tell bhutan ,we annouce stop road constraction there, show friendly face to bhutan
second bhutan /china ask indian to leave,
if indian dont leave, xi give deadline of military solution. and we will see

If you see even in those Chinese maps there are more Indian army camps than that of Bhutan. Even 40 years back that is.

I don't have anything against China my friend. I know there are differences what i have a problem with is the way Chinese act (like a bully) we could have sorted it out through dialogue but no!. We are being threatened with war.

That threat is what is my problem we are ready to solve the issue through dialogue but we are also ready to give a befitting reply if war is forced upon us.

officially our foreign ministry did not even mention this standoff this week.

I dont believe any military conflict /war will actually happen,
point is the standoff need to be solved before 19th cpc congress in november.with enough political archievment for Xi. war very unlikly to happen, but we have to show strength. solved diplomaticly in the end

The author is actually right.

Even the last king of Bhutan shares the same opinions with a US diplomat:

Bhutan is actually a Chinese protectorate from hegemonic Indian ambitions, below is the proof-

¶10. (C) The Fourth King confided, "the Bhutanese have never looked fondly on China" given its actions in Tibet in the 1950s and 1960s; consequently, the government pursues a "cautious policy" with China. His Majesty also divulged that negotiations on the demarcation of Bhutan's northern border have not progressed because China has been "surprisingly difficult." He explained many Bhutanese had expected greater "generosity" from China given its relative size; however, China has frustrated Bhutanese negotiators by offering to return land that already belongs to Bhutan in exchange for land in disputed areas. Stalled border talks have prevented Bhutan from opening trade routes with its northern neighbor, despite reports from the Economic Minister that China is "very keen" to proceed.

I guess this guy counts.

Also, the Global Times is run by the CCP. So, it more or less acts as an official mouth piece of CCP.
