Government figures show that the recruitment of minorities in central government organizations stood at 10.18% in 2010-11, up from 6.93% in 2006-07.

The 3% increase in employment across sectors in the last six years coincides with the directives that the Centre issued to ministries and departments that they should take special measures — publicity campaigns about recruitment drives and inclusion of minority members in interview panels — to boost minority presence in jobs.

Minority has been a thinly-disguised term for Muslims who form an overwhelming share of religious minorities.

OK first of all they constitute 15 not 25 percent of our total population and secondly almost 50% of them live in the some of the most backward states in India like UP, Bihar etc. Condition of Muslims belonging to some of the most developed states like Gujarat or Kerala is way more better than the ones belonging to poorer states. Its regional not a religious matter.

So let me get this straight, there are nearly as many Muslims in India than in Pakistan and they only hold 10% of govt jobs.

So out of 160 million Muslims in India, 16 million of them are involved in jobs which influence the politics of their country.

Absolutely absurd, the Muslims in India are getting f**ked.

POVERTY:-

· 94.9% Muslims live below the poverty line.

· Monthly per capita expenditure of Muslims is much lower than the national average.

· Majority of Muslim families in rural areas do not receive food grain.

· One out of every three Muslim family in rural areas survives on less than US $6 per month.


EDUCATION:-

· Socio-Economic status of Muslim is worse than Dalits.

· 25% Muslim children belonging to the 6-14 year age groups either drop out or never attend school in their locality.

· Drop out rates are higher at primary, middle and higher secondary levels.

· In premier colleges only 1 out of 25 under graduate and 1 out of 50 for post- graduates is a Muslim.

· Only 3% of Muslim children among the school going age go to Madarsas.

· Access to Govt. school for Muslim girls is limited.

JOBS:-

· 3% or less in army forces, 10% in public administration, 5% in railways and 3.5% in banking.

Cost of education: I have two nephews, My family pays 10000 INR/yr for readmission in normal school at tier 3 city, 1000 INR/month as tution fee, 1000 INR/ month to private tutor.. Dress, Books, Notebooks cost is additional..

Now see a Muslim, He has average 5-6 kids (Bihari Sunni Muslims, Shia have lesser kids). One working at garage (Abbu ka garage) another working at dhaba. 3rd working as domestic help.. 4th is crawling, 5th is in lap of mom (breast feeding) and sixth is in womb...

lol! unless they will stop breeding they can't grow.. I am sure Bihari Sunni will never understand..

I don't get it. Won't the reservations based on religion goes against the principles of secularism in which all citizens irrespective of their religious belief are supposed to be treated equally. So why is this happening in our so called secular country with the help of so called secular political parties???

The colonial powers from Europe, whether British, French, Portuguese or even trading posts like Dutch and Danes always used this method of 'favouring' one or the other group to make them stand out and thus create divisions.

The ruling party simply took over the job well.

Reservations are a terrible insult to great personalities like Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam who is loved by all Indians (even the most conservative right wing) and respected.

Look at Dr. Tessy Thomas, the first lady to be in-charge of an ICBM project ever. She's where she is because of nothing but pure hard work.

Quota is the biggest bane of our country.

Stupid people who are lazy and don't want to work, don't realize this and ask for reservations.

A road, machine, aircraft etc doesn't know if its builder was Muslim, Christian, Jew, Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh or any other.

It will either succeed in functioning or miserably fail.

But people will not use their common sense. Piling degrees by joining colleges, institutions etc in QUOTA will get them nowhere.

in a poor and developing country like India reservation system to a small extent is required but it should be given only based the persons's financial conditions not on the basis of his religion, caste, underwear size etc etc etc
