Former US ambassador to India Richard Verma has said India may lead the world in every category and with the youngest workforce in the region, the South Asian country will hold that advantage until 2050. “… the most populous nation, the most college graduates, the largest middle-class, the most cell phone and Internet users, along with the third-largest military and third-largest economy, all coexisting in the world's largest democracy, with 600 million people under the age of 25,” Richard Verma said on Monday, news agency PTI reported.

Verma made the remarks during the commencement address to the Jindal University School of Banking and Finance in Haryana's Sonipat.

“That's on top of the massive development that is taking place in India today right before our eyes. Some $2 trillion will be spent on infrastructure in just the next decade,” he said. "The bulk of the infrastructure needed for 2030 is yet to be built. That's why some 100 new airports are under planning or construction today alone," he added.

He told students that India has the youngest workforce in Asia. “…and you'll hold that advantage until 2050. That's pretty formidable,” he said.

Well the first of these is Corona

Respond him with facts, if you can’t means he’s right. He mentioned the games as well.
China is leading Olympics with gold medals. Just because they don't play kabaddi or cricket doesn't mean they are get medals in nonsense (Whatever that means) games.
Here are some medals by China in some sports where India is nowhere to be seen.

I was just asking him to respond him, it’s true that most of the games we play is different from the ones in Olympics.

In 2030, China will be the NO.1, the United States will be the NO.2, and India will be the NO.3.
The NO.2 helped NO.3 India surpass the US itself.
I'm so moved, this is really a great selfless American:omghaha::omghaha::omghaha:

US won't help India or any countries to surpass US itself. In 80s Japan was supposed to become #1 and then US pushed them to signing plaza accord.

Stupid guy, or media did it’s hitjob at translation?

I think Mr. Verma was just caught in the enthusiasm of the moment and felt compelled to pep up the gathered students with some over-patriotism. This is just like that former Indian scientist who some days ago declared that the Indian space program is more advanced than the Chinese space program despite China now operating a rover on Mars and a space station in Low Earth Orbit.

Verma's point about the most number of college graduates in the world I think is true even now. For example every year Indian colleges produce the most number of computer engineers in the world - about 160,000 - and this having been the fact for at least the last 20 years thereby there being a few million computer engineers in total, yet there is not a single Indian design of the two fundamental elements in a classical computer - the microprocessor and the operating system. And we can see not much innovation from Indian graduates in other education streams like civil engineering. So just having most number of college graduates isn't enough for societal development.

Also Verma's point about "third-largest economy by 2030" is not valid. Even now India is the sixth-largest economy yet that apparent wealth is not distributed among the citizens of India. This is the enduring drawback of Capitalism.
