INDIA-Lost-264-aircraft-from-2000-to-2015-.jpg

Shocking statics have revealed that India lost 264 Military Aircraft from 2000 to 2015.

Indian Air Force was founded on 8 October 1932. According to Bharat rakshak IAF Aircraft Accidents Database
In last 86 years IAF has lost a total of 1707 Aircraft during combat and crashed incidents

Here is the Breakdown of IAF Aircraft Accidents per year

Two years ago, India’s then defense minister told parliament that more than half the 872 MiGs it had purchased from Russia had been lost in accidents, at a cost of over 200 lives.

According to figures released by the Ministry of Defence in March 2013, the IAF was losing the equivalent of one fighter squadron (approximately 18 fighters) in accidents every two years

Here is the breakdown of 264 aircraft India lost from 2000 to 2015

  • 67 MiG-21s
  • 7 Su-30s
  • 22 MiG-27s
  • 4 An-32s
  • 1 TS-11
  • 12 MiG-23s
  • 24 Sa-315s
  • 1 Do-228
  • 14 HJT-16s
  • 7 HPT-32s
  • 18 Mil Mi-8s and Mil Mi 17s
  • 2 HJT-36s
  • 14 Chetaks
  • 1 C-130
  • 3 Ka-28s
  • 2 Mi-35s
  • 9 Sea Harriers
  • 1 Mil Mi-26
  • 19 Jaguars
  • 1 Nal Saras
  • 11 MiG-29s
  • 3 BaE Hawk 132s
  • 1 MiG-25
  • 1 BN-2 Islander
  • 2 Il-38s
  • 1 Canberra PR57
  • 10 HAL Dhruv
  • 6 Mirage 2000s
Most of the Aircraft crashed in India are Russian Jets ( Variants of MIG and Sukhoi)

PLAAF has nearly 2,000 planes (Most of PLAAF jet are also Russian jets), but PLAAF has very low crash accident rate.

Why the Indian Air Force has a high crash rate?
Reasons for these crash are

  • human errors (Shoddy maintenance)
  • Outdated spares
  • Obsolete air-frames
  • System Malfunctions.

IAF accident rate was high in first 5 years of 21st century but it has been drastically lowered now.

In comparison to our Main Adversary our fighter jet crash rate is much lower in last several years, since 2012 only 32 IAF fighter aircraft crashed and only 5 fighter pilots losses.

Lol.
Nice joke.
PLAAF does not reveal its crashes to the public. Only PLA crashes that get revealed are the ones which got photographed/videographed by public or in which senior offivers died.

North Korea also did not report a single military crash in 20 years.
Doesnt mean they dont crash.

If Pakistan had those stats we wouldnt have an airforce. But pat yourself and tell yourself that if it makes you feel better

Since you want a comparison with PAF.
Let's see data from Scramble Aviation society and Aviation Safety Network:

From January 2012 onwards Number of PAF fighter losses: 25

From January 2012 onwards Number of IAF fighter losses: 32

Ratio: 1:1.28

Now taking into account the fact that IAF inventory is nearly two times larger than PAF, IAF crash rate is pretty low.

Lets say we have no aircraft left...happy now

In comparison, almost all of Indian fighters are twin engine where as all PAF jets are single engine machines.
Besides when was the last time your air force fired in anger where as PAF has been involved in some form of conflict since mid-80s.
If in doubt, check your Jaguar and Harrier losses.
