Why the hell do we need 126 mainline fighters from the untrustworty, backsttabers like US.Why do these indian politicians have to bring pakistan into everything. We should not be buying even a pencil from U.S as such.We have EF,Rafael,Mig35,Gripen etc. to buy arent they enough? US will arm pakistan whether we buy or not.

Like some time back...some people were saying if Pakistan gets these 18 F16s ...Pakistan will wipe India off the face of this earth.....or something like that...... Good move by Indian authorities .....lets see how US handles this one ........Its US's call now....they want to Sell 16 to Pakistan or they want to sell 126 or more to India......

This can actually put India in a spot too - If the US agrees and asks for a commitment instead - but even despite all this US will still go ahead and give the Pakistanis those small number of F-16s cos they are desperate to get out of Afghanistan and the trust building exercise was done for this very purpose.

The strategy does sound good as of now, but I am not sure how much bearing it might have on the US. But anyhow, I think we don't need to worry about the small number of F-16s with PAF - remember they are the best in their inventory - We have better equipment in the form of SU-30 MKI and by the end of it we will have 126+ very capable fighters much more capable than the Block 52s of the PAF. So, dont think it will be of such a consequence.

On the other hand it is a good exercise as we really need to show the present OBAMA government that its about time you fall in line with our interests if you want yours intact.

I think Indians are afraid that after this strategic dialogue between usa and Pakistan. there could be secret deal of transferring few numbers of F-16 to Pakistan to counter terrorism. and they might not leak this information to any country.
This thing might be coming in Indians mind and forced them to start blackmailing on 126 fighters deal.

Its called D_I_P_L_O_M_A_C_Y . countries do whatever that are in their capacity to pressurize against arming its possible threats. if it India does that its because of its ability to do so and its capability to do so.
