India launches spacecraft to Mars

But the Chinese and Japanese Mars missions were a flop!

While the Chinese Mars probe never even left Earth orbit and burned up in Earth's atmosphere, the Japanese probe failed en-route to Mars.
Indian Mars Mission is not a complete success yet......only a portion of the mission is completed successfully.......we have to wait for 10 more months to see whether our Orbiter is able to orbit Mars or not......if it does, we can strike out Japan from the list........and regarding China, they shouldn't even be considered as a candidate....

Indeed A Journey of Million Miles Have Begun With Single Blast ....

Still long way to go ....

Yet we have taken out first baby step ....

Good luck ISRO ....

Looking at it by another perspective India celebrated Diwali with the largest "Pathaka" ....the biggest "Rocket"

The 'firework' was amazing ....

Best Diwali gift ....and best way to celebrate Diwali ....

I guess aisi Diwali roz aaye ....!!!
Yes, you are right...doesn't China has GLSV capabilities?

They do have the capability ....surprisingly they have not used their capability so far ....

Thank god:tup::tup: Atleast this thread is free from trolls...:dance3:

Congrats from Germany, the Homeland of the first modern rocket and its creator Dr. Wernher von Braun.
As India's space capabilities improve & mature, so i hope does the cooperation with us, Israel, USA, France & other countries in this field.

And don't let anybody tell you that you should invest your money somewhere else instead of the space program & industries.

I hope they find

actually,Phobos-Grunt mission was an ambitious one.landing on Phobos, collect sample and return.Scientific community was disappointed for the failure.but the good news is that India will conduct 2 more Mars mission within 2020.and the last one will include a lander, like Rover Spirit and it'll perform scientific experiment on Mars.. :yahoo:

And Indians should wait until its successful to brag. Most space faring nations can launch something into space. Russian vehicle failed to leave the earth orbit a couple of years ago and Japanese probe fail to enter mars orbit.

China never attempted any Mars mission. They just piggyback a ride on Russian vehicle. So they never tried any Mars mission. In the same token, don't say they have failed. How can they fail when they have not try? Unless if you deliberately add their name in the failed list to slam them.

As I always told, India would be the greatest technology country the world has seen since the big bang,

This is not an Indian mission, it's using NASA deep space tracking technology to complete the mission.

It's not even 100% Independent Indian mission and you want us to congratulate you on something you didn't even do?

Puhleeeze

Congrats NASA, they are the people that's doing all the work so Indians can boast as if its an 'Indian' mission.

The NASA M3 instrument was used to locate water on the moon and now NASA doing all the work in mars mission.

India is truly pathetic. Can't do a single mission or build a single weapon without foreign help and foreign components.

Can't these guys do anything by themselves? Even Iran sent a monkey into space without any foreign help. That deserves admiration. Not this propaganda stunt by India claiming its their own mission when they use NASA technology and NASA expertise.

Did India even contribute anything to this so-called 'Indian' mission?

Hi! First post for me.. and what a wonderful day to do this...

Wish all the scientists the very best for next 1 year - getting onto Helio orbit and finally onto the destined orbit in Mars..

Hope it works well and the next GSLV launch next month

Kudos to ISRO

Germany helps heavily in our space program.

But pakistanis is always like to talk about parity with India. And SUPARCO is established before the establishment ISRO.But they cant develop a single SLV until now ,that is not look like a parity with India
