India: Kerala’s Muslim organisation to set up 100 schools in Uttar Pradesh

yes hindu society has become increasingly progressive which means actress are not considered prostitutes anymore.. there might be some truth in muslim society going bit backward..

Right. I think the Indian Muslim society especially has became more closed and conservative due to the Indian political environment.

.
Exactly ..And these enlightenment started just after the 9/11.Wahhabism that was whirling around in Saudi for a long time just blown out after that event.
Perhaps you might know all of those in 9/11 attack was Saudi citizens.

the saudi wahabis and the irani ayatollais are nothing in front of the south asian deobandis ( deoband is a town in present uttar pradesh ).

Kapoors are the one the rule Bollywood world.Stretched members from that family can easily find a role inBollywood .
@ArsalanKhan21 acting with another male during BW period is equivalent to being semi nude now... the muslim ladies were certainly bold to join movies... during a time when men used to do female roles in drama by doing some makeup and wearing saree.

but yes hindu society has become increasingly progressive which means actress are not considered prostitutes anymore.. there might be some truth in muslim society going bit backward.. but I would think competition from majority community being a bigger factor, and lack of opportunity. THere is a reason why awful lot of kapoors in bollywood.

There are 40 million Muslims in Uttar Pradesh while only 9 million Muslims in Kerala. The Kerala Muslims are wealthy as they have migrated in large numbers to Persian Gulf. Now they are building schools for Muslims in UP.

Kerala’s Muslim organisation to set up 100 schools in UP at cost of Rs 100 crore (IRs 1 billion)

In a bid to make their presence felt among Muslims in Uttar Pradesh, Kerala-based organisation Sunni Yuvajana Sangam (SYS) has planned to open nearly 100 primary schools in the state. The drive, estimated to cost nearly Rs 100 crore, will be funded by donations received by SYS.

Though the outfit denies plans to directly enter UP politics, its office-bearers admitted that it is not averse to forming a pressure group. “If you unite and have good numbers, one can form a pressure group. There is no plan for direct political intervention, but we will decide at the time of elections,” said Dr A P Abdul Hakeem Azhari, member of the supreme council of SYS, which claims to have nearly 10 lakh active members.

The organisation plans to set up one or two schools in each city. “We will focus on primary and secondary education. Higher education can be taken care of later. We have done the homework at ground level and will soon start our programmes,” Dr Azhari said, adding that they have planned to involve local Muslims in setting up the schools.

“The community people should help themselves. We are open for helping other communities too. The plan will be executed in a few years. Ours is a charity organisation working on humanitarian grounds,” he added.

SYS had recently invited UP CM Akhilesh Yadav and Minority Welfare minister Azam Khan at an event in Kerela’s Mallapuram. Though Akhilesh could not go, Azam went there but reportedly did not receive a warm welcome. Azam also expressed his displeasure at the announcement that no political speeches will be made from the SYS platform. On being asked about the matter, Azhari refused to comment on Khan.

SYS has already started a technical institute for girls in UP’s Pilibhit district and a medical dispensary for poor in Shahjahanpur. The outfit came into news when it donated Rs 8 lakh each to two natives of UP’s Deoria and Maharajganj districts, respectively, who lost their lives during a mishap in an oil company in Saudi Arabia.

R P Hussain, national organiser of the SYS students’ wing, said: “So far, we have opened 200 primary schools in West Bengal, 20 in Jammu and Kashmir and five in Gujarat.

At the helm of SYS is conservative Muslim cleric Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musaliyar, who is also general secretary of All India Sunni Jameyyathul Ulema.

Wtf, they overestimating budget or I heard something wrong, 100 school in 100 cr, 1 school in 1 crore, how is that even possible?

Yes, I agree with you. Deobandis are most moderate muslims.

In fact that is a recent phenomenon.Perhaps you can remember the hardcores attack against Mecca during 80s.
At that time Deobandi was non existent in here. But things began to worsen just after the flow of oil money from Arab world. And the product of that flow Deobandis is now become a Frankeinstein monster .

but i dislike the forced inclusion of songs that are unnecessary... and i dislike stupid films like "mardaani".
man, this is the renaissance period of indian movie Industry, after parallel cinema died, all hope was lost..
but then came multiplexes and Anurag Kashyap... and then many more like him... I hardly see any arty movie being made, but many small movie with realism and intimate human interest story are being made. Audiance taste has improved which is going to create a virtuous circle.
I cant believe people say bollywood used to be good... actually it was always sh*t.. but this is the best period.
My last movie: Bewakoofiya. Not arty. Still mainstream masala. But much more subtle acting, not shouting from roof. Much more realism (the last half hour became bad but even then its a good effort)

I can ignore item numbers.. even with them movies are better.

.
i disagree... haryana state in india is largely a rural or agricultural place, yet has a veil culture, and is a extremely backward place, filled with "honor killing", oppression and female infanticide.

Just my observation. Pakistan's Pashtun (Pathan) areas also have Burqa and honor killings but no female infanticide. The groom has to pay "Bride Price" to the father of the bride before he can get married. So daughters bring wealth to parents and they are well cared. While in India the parents of the bride has to pay dowry to the groom at the time of the wedding. So there is incentive for Indian parents to have sons only.

Hindi movie industry in the past was a place for natural talents & real actors. Hence we had somany memorable superstars from diverse background to showcase. None of them came to the industry due to the kind of connection where their parents were actors or they come from a previlaged background. Real ability to act was the reason why those first generation actors came along.
We can't say the same thing now. Bollywood has just become a coterie of ex-actors & previlaged few. Real talents don't get an opportunity. You just have to live with Kapoors & Khans..no matter how many flops after flops they give you. If a first generation actor with no Bollywood connection still manages to get through...then you get Shahrukh Khan & Madhuri Dixit. But icons like them are rarely allowed to get through that coterie of few.

Yes, I agree with you. Deobandis are most moderate muslims.

Not much infrastructure or classroom equipment required for madrassahs. They just need a copy of the Quran, a mat and possibly a stool for every student.

Errrr
so are we gonna teach Malyalam to Bhaiyas of UP???
LOL... I am not sure if that is going to happen but let me tell you that Bhaiyyas hold a grudge against Mallus maybe because of competition in middle east job market. I say that with personal experience...

:o:

the taliban are deobandi... before these isis type groups started, taliban was already demons.

In fact that is a recent phenomenon.Perhaps you can remember the hardcores attack against Mecca during 80s.

those were the exceptions in those times, along with the ikhwaan who were either banned or being decimated.

At that time Deobandi was non existent in here. But things began to worsen just after the flow of oil money from Arab world. And the product of that flow Deobandis is now become a Frankeinstein monster .

yes, saudi oil money combined with deobandi brainwash ideology... deobandis were able to take their poisons to south east asia, russia and china... but much before that, the ikhwaan of egypt ( which spread to other parts of africa and to syria ) was an adopter of the deobani/tableeghi-jamaat "philosophy"... the syrian government fought ikhwaan in the 80's, as it does now.

the taliban then arrived and did done enough to spread deobandi-ism.

and then came satellite tv and internet, and great "philosophers" like zakir naik sahaab.

I'm not sure!
A lot of UPites and Biharis now come to Kerala in search of jobs, and they get better payments in south. I dont think they are complaining.
