India and Israel are expected to sign an extradition treaty and an agreement on transfer of sentenced persons, during external affairs minister S. M. Krishna's three-day visit to Jerusalem from January 9.

In what would mark the beginning of commemoration of two decades of establishment of diplomatic ties, Krishna will meet Israeli President Simon Peres, PM Benjamin Netanyahu and his counterpart and deputy PM Avigdor Lieberman, besides travelling to Ramallah to meet Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

Sources said the extradition treaty would enable the two countries to track down international criminal gangs, drug warlords and crime syndicates.

Krishna's trip is taking place after four Israeli ministers including Israeli finance minister Yuval Steinitz visited India this year. Steinitz's offer to sell natural gas to India during his visit here earlier this month is expected to gather momentum during Krishna's trip.

Indo-Israeli ties have grown following a strategic partnership between the two countries.

Congress won't stop their minority appeasement policy even if it affects our relation with one of our closest friend they have greatly damaged indo-israeli relations

When has Israel ever been an enemy to India, or India to Israel?

___________

I think this is more of a symbolic gesture than anything else, how many Indian criminals flee to Israel or vice versa? Has this ever even happened before?

I don't think so. Jews are smart enough to overlook this petty politics. Also I would not call Israel friend..ally may be but not friends. I don't want India to be friends with anyone. It does not suits us. Some can have 'higher than mountain, deeper than ocean' friendships but not India...its not in tune with our diplomacy.

.
which terrorists go to Israel after committing crime in India? why would they go to Israel when the safe havens are provided nearby? and why this guy is going to Palestine?

True, it does not make any sense to India or Israel's enemies mostly jihadis to hide in either countries.
