India is worse than Pakistan on gender equality

THIS IS NOT A SOCIAL ISSUES FORUM.
ITS A DEFENSE FORUM.

#1. WHY ARE SIMILAR ISSUES NOT HIGHLIGHTED IN CONTEXT TO PAKISTAN ? WITH PROFOUND INTEREST AND DEDICATION ?

#2. IN A DEFENCE FORUM, IF U CANT COMPETE/COMPARE WITH WEAPONS/DEFENSE RELATED TERMS WHY COMPARE SUCH ISSUES WHICH ARE MEANINGLESS IN A DEFENSE FORUM ??

What can Rs 20 possibly fetch? For 836 million Indians,
Rs 20 per day, or Rs 600 a month, buys them their daily
sustenance.

Technically, a large chunk of these 836 million Indians -
77 per cent of the country's population - are above the
poverty line at Rs 12 per day.

Well I could make a new thread for this topic but then I dont want to make fun of poor and underprivileged people..

At least our people are not hungry like yours, and 80% of your population lives on less than half a dollar a day, poor indians.

Oh shut up already. stop bring China in on everything to make yourself feel better about a specific short coming.

where did you find the word China in my post , dude ????? ....India has neighbours ranging from SL to Myanmar to China to BD to Pakistan etc etc ...all those points in the OPost and mine are equally valid for all countries in and around India.....they are even valid for several other South East asian countries .

So what the hell are you targeting India alone for ????

At least progress is being made in India irradicating these issues , think twice before blindly dishing dirt on India ...

You're being dishonest.

Cases by the thousands happen in our neighbouring countries duly noted by human rights organizations and NGO's yet they get ignored or swept under the carpet due to a state-controlled media or a media in constant fear of extra-judicial action.

Which one of India's neighbours gets tagged with "state-controlled media" by members here.

State controlled media -- China , Myanmar

Media who works in fear of extra judicial action --- Pakistan , Sri Lanka

BD media is relatively sedate -- I thought this was common knowledge

Now , the entire thread is just a comparison --see the title and the article carefully

India ranks 122 among 138 countries for which the gender inequality measure has been calculated. Pakistan is at 116, and Bangladesh is a notch higher at 112.

Pakistanis are comparing with India and Bangladesh ,

so what 's wrong in Indians comparing with ALL of South Asia , China , South East asian countries like Cambodia , Laos etc .

we are allowed our own comparisons, right ....

My point is that

in the context of this thread --- Gender inequality cases are more reported in India and less reported in several others countries ( Yes including China ) Hence the findings and rankings are probably erroneous .

Hope this clarifies .....
