Countries dont work and act as an Individual do. Post Independence, India was not the enemy of UK....right.
Pakistan exploited the situation post USSR intervention and USA pumping money. Without USA support, could Pakistan have achieved anything against USSR.
India may have expanded influence .....similarly..post 911 and USA Invasion for a safer and better Asia and Afghanistan. Taliban regime was only recognized by few evil countries only.
The common enemy being the country which had cottage industry of so called non state actors .
Why does your country has non state actors? What if India starts sending Indiansbin large numbers to commit terrorist acts and when caught state that these are non state actors.
Man, you Indians really are brainwashed.
India has fanned terror in the region more than any other country. Just because the West has had an axe to grind against Islam in the modern era, India's support to various terror groups causing havoc in the region has gone unpunished.
Even America knows India supports Baloch terrorists, TTP, Tamil Tigers (in the past), etc. It just has to turn a blind eye because it is trying to build up India to resist growing Chinese dominance in the region.
It doesn't matter who recognized the Afg Taliban previously or not --- what matters is that they represent the majority of (especially) rural Afghans from the main ethnic group (Pashtuns.) Under your favorite kind of government system (democracy), that would make them the legitimate, popular leaders of the country.
R&AW has only been able to use Afghan soil to stoke terror in Pakistan (through non-state actors, by the way) because:
a.) the government of the mayor of Kabul (aka the Government of Afghanistan) and its intel agency, the NDS, are full of vengeful weirdos whose wet dream has been to support TTP/ISIS to kill Pakistanis
b.) the US had no option but to turn a blind eye (like it does toward the dictatorship in Saudi Arabia where there are hardly any human rights / freedom of speech yet the US gladly sells them billions in arms) to India's unsavory terrorist activities because it wants to use India to annoy China (Baloch terror attacks on CPEC, etc.)
The net result is that, by and large, Pakistan has grown stable and the Afghan end game, especially when the invaders leave, won't be so pretty for India.
We can talk all day here ---- let's just wait and see instead.
