Sorry to spoil the party, guys! But I'm not very excited with this report!

At least,most of the papers related to medical subjects( I've no authority to talk about others ) are pure crap! We manipulate and falsify data, we have very low impact value, high emphasis on statistical interpretations and less on exploration of new ideas!

We need quality more than quantity!

P.S. This problem is prevalent in almost all asian countries.

You are absolutely right but as you see the Stupid medico professors here lack any understanding of research and are more hell bend on playing egoistic games with colleagues and students. When that trend is changed then something worthwhile can come out.

If we leave the high end institutions we know how the education system works in India. Its more about getting the marks. If we would have been able to change the mindset of people then it would have been totally diffrent. I still remember having a university topper from IT but still had problems writing a simple C program for Data Structures if something was modified

That's coz in India, hilariously, it's the students that are the stars and not the teachers. Think about it...people remember princeton coz John Nash & Einstein taught there, MIT coz paul samuelson teaches. We remember IIT Kanpur coz the All India JEE topper studies there. To us an educational institution is a place to go and learn,not a place whwre great ideas are born- it may, but that's secondary.

i agree with ur fact,i belong to the pharmaceutical sector and i know the reality(in academics)

Most of the review articles and research papers r copy pasted from some American universities.What disgust me more is that some of the proffeser's start to behave like Chinese(i mean,become aggressive)if somebody find a flaw in their claim.

Before raving about ur dominance and superior strait,wash ur eyes and watch the reality,since i belong to pharmaceutical sector I can make some claims here,ur pharmaceutical industry is the most pathetic i found in the 3rd world,if we copy research work's from the west,u people copy our work(since many consider here India's low IQ people,this is clearly astonishing)

Well I have some facts to back up my claim,do anybody remember the "Made in India" scandal in Nigeria,Chinese sometimes get busted to soon.

We have some good institute in each field ..
but usually our higher education system is not so good ,,

but i m more to elementary and secondary education system we need to have changes ...we need more practical then what we are getting ..
i am a passout from navodaya ... and i believe these are best school running by government but normally other usually run by state government there is not so good environment for study, practical and games .. and i believe without a strong foundation we cant make a stable house ,,
if u have good earning u never want to see ur kids in government school

reverse brain drain has already started with booming INDIAN economy and declining of USA. now a days most of IIT's and IIM's who are believed to best graduates of INDIA prefer staying and working in INDIA.
after all everyone loves their country, so if given a similar opportunity they will stay back.
