Are you confusing us to mullahs? Again, we saved all Lilliputs from extinction. If Pak army had a free run, you would have still been sucking their thumbs (imagine a different body part). For saving Hindu women. Your mother/sister could have been one of them. Whatever happened to Dharmic Ummah and your collective heart bleeding for Hindus in PK/BD? Ingrates.
Remind yourself these everyday when you get up and be grateful to India.
Support for Refugees: The conflict in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) led to a massive refugee crisis, with millions of people fleeing to India to escape the violence. India provided shelter, food, and basic necessities to these refugees.
Diplomatic Efforts: India sought to raise international awareness about the situation in East Pakistan. It highlighted the human rights abuses and genocide committed by the Pakistani military, and lobbied for international support for the cause of Bangladesh's independence.
Direct Military Intervention: In December 1971, India officially entered the war after the Pakistan Air Force launched pre-emptive strikes on airfields in Western India. The Indian Armed Forces responded with a coordinated air, sea, and land assault, which was instrumental in the swift conclusion of the war. The Indian Navy effectively blockaded the Bay of Bengal, cutting off supply routes to East Pakistan.
Training and Support for Mukti Bahini: India provided training, arms, and other forms of support to the Mukti Bahini, the guerrilla resistance movement in East Pakistan. This support was crucial in enabling the Mukti Bahini to carry out effective operations against the Pakistani military.
Instrument of Surrender: The war ended with the unconditional surrender of the Pakistani military on December 16, 1971. The Instrument of Surrender was signed by the Pakistani forces at the Ramna Race Course in Dhaka, in the presence of Indian military officers.
Ensuring Bangladesh's Recognition: After the war, India played a key role in ensuring that the newly independent Bangladesh was recognized by other countries. It used its diplomatic influence to secure Bangladesh's admission to the United Nations.
