Hey, we shouldn't being focusing on the # of terrorist groups, but WHY they exist. All groups arisen from frustration about some basic (or perceived) needs not being met. Understand the under-lying cause we can find a solution.

Secondly, extremism, separatism and terrorism is dangerous not only for the host country but for neighbors as well. If you say that there are people in Xinjiang who want 'independence' from China, there are much more from neighing Tajik, Iran, etc who want 'independence' from Muslim/Islamic rule.

What's important is who is best capable and willing to help the population. Sure the Taliban may seek to rule Afghan and parts of Uzbek, Pak but their abilities are limited.

The whole concept of a Islamic state is bad idea - more reasonable is a Secular state. If muslims complain about lack of religious freedom in India, Europe, and elsewhere but they enforce an Islamic state (which discriminates against non-muslims) that is hypocritical. I SAY LEAVE RELIGION OUT OF POLITICS, ECONOMICS, EDUCATION AND GOVERNMENT. Religion has a place in the community, home, and church/mosque/temple/etc. If your religion has merits then people will naturally come to you.

THERE HAS YET TO BE EVIDENCE PUT FORWARD TO STRONGLY SUPPORT THE NOTION THAT ONE RELIGION IS "SUPERIOR" TO ALL THE REST. There have been many unsupported claims based on 'faith', but until this is done don't force conversions. And what is wrong with taking what is useful from various beliefs (including science, arts, culture in addition to 'faith') and discarding what is superstitious? What is wrong with not associating with any organized religion, stay neutral and enjoy good life and family?

I don't favor any set of beliefs, so when I walk in a mosque I respectfully bow my head, when I enter into a Hindu temple I respect their statues, I bow to the Buddha statue, and bow to the cross --- but I don't submit. Like it or not, all religions were created out of man's insecurities and his/her desire to make sense of the world and to answer the ageless question: "What happens after death?"

Most of these terror groups do not have any significant impact in India. The only terrorist groups that can be considered a threat would be the Kashmiri groups, SIMI, Ulfa in Assam, NSCIM in Nagaland and obviously the naxals.

You are mistaking what I said.

India claims to be secular but is heavily biased in favor of Hinduism. Malaysia today is better (but still needs improvement) in being more fair. Egypt is mostly tolerant of outsiders. In Saudi the sheiks and fake princes use religion as a tool for power. In Europe they fear Islam.

Governments like Canada and China are truly (close enough) SECULAR. Many people complain that secular nations are "Godless", but that is really unfair to Buddhists, Athiests and others who don't believe in an omni-potent creator. Just as uncontrolled emotions can ruin a business, religion and politics need to be separate. We should allow people freedom of belief and expression (as long as it is not socially harmful), but in no way should we favor one over the other.

You dont know the whole story behind how these people and OTHER people along with them got killed. Majority of Sikhs do live peacfully with in India but there still lots of bitterness of 1984 and what happed in Punjab in 90s.

I am not disrespecting the innocent people killed in 1984 riots or what happend in punjab. One of the reason i believe that sikhs got integrated well to the indian society is only because they had a common enemy in indira gandhi, whom was eliminated by sikh guards which took away much of the hatred. But again 1984 was one the worst chapters of our countires existance yet you got well integrated with India.
According to me, If you had carried those bitterness against the concept of "india", or if the rest of India would have carried the bitterness against khalistan movement and killing of indira gandhi towards the sikhs... the prosepct of an integration would have been bleak. The point is no sane person supports the riots of 1984. All those happend was out of the fit of rage of few people, and nobody had ill feelings about sikhs before or after that. And everyone had trust in the greater concept of INDIA. And luckily and more importantly we didn't have people to exploit the situation like what we have in Kashmir.

And the whole point i was making it was if you judge a state by the actions of the few, then you will never be happy in ANY state. It can be regional it can be economical or it can be religious there will always be reasons to hate a country..!!!!
