I did hit my head with gori once when i was busy in typing and was looking at mobile while walking on the busy road so yes these wahstapp, facebook and others social networking sites divert your attention and concetration which could bring more serious consequences especially when you cross road so its not just selfie but anything which divert your attention

that's true... i see so many people with eyes on cell phone and fingers busily pattering on the screen.

and the underlined reminded of one incident with me years ago and this didn't have to do with cell phone... i was in a atm booth, about to withdraw money... the card was already in the slot... a young lady came in and started giving a sales talk about some bank scheme i think... her voice was so nice that i was mesmerized by it... in some time, i heard "beep, beep, beep, beep" and then "kachung"... i looked at the machine, saw that the card had been taken in.

that was a good lesson to me.

Well once my foot was an inch away from almost runover by car tire while i was listening music walking down street and steping my foot little right on the road because of obstacle ahead. Also never listen to music while riding bike.
