India extends $10 m grant to Palestine

India has announced a grant of US$10 million as budgetary support to the Palestinian National Authority and reassured the visiting Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas of support to their efforts aimed at economic and social development.

The Palestinian President is on a two-day visit to India from February 11. He is accompanied by his Foreign Minister Dr. Riyad Al-Malki other ministers and senior officials.

He met the Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh February 11 and shared his views on recent developments in the peace process in West Asia. Singh thanked President Abbas for keeping India informed and reiterated India’s commitment to the Palestinian cause in line with our support for United Nations Security Council Resolutions 242 and 338 calling for a negotiated solution resulting in a sovereign, independent, viable and united State of Palestine living within secure and recognized borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, side by side at peace with Israel as endorsed in the Quartet Roadmap and UN Security Council Resolutions 1397 and 1515.

He also reiterated India’s support for the Arab Peace Plan, and urged concerted action for achieving a durable, just and comprehensive settlement of the West Asia conflict.

President Abbas expressed his sincere appreciation for India’s consistent political and material support to Palestine. Prime Minister hosted a dinner for President Abbas and his delegation.

The Indian minister of state for external affairs, Shashi Tharoor met President Abbas before the latter left for Islamabad.

The foreign affairs minister of Bahrain, Shaikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Bin Mohamed Al Khalifa who was also on a three-day visit to India left on Friday.

i can assure you we Pakistanis help Palestinians more than any other nation in the world in form of Aid generated by charity organisations. I am sure many charity organisations collect money for the peoples of Palestine and many Pakistani peoples espacially living in West donate money for that and that money would definitely be exceeding to other nations because other nations prefer to donate in african countries

India gives $10 million to the Palestinians whilst it gives $ billions worth business contracts to Israel. After the US, it's the second country at the forefront of developing Israel's military industry, which in turn ends up indulging in ethnic cleansing and all sorts of human rights abuses of the Palestinians.


Just like Israel, India is also an imperialist state that occupies large parts of foreign lands in Kashmir and faces similar freedom movements fighting different states.

If Indian political/military elite had any moral standing, they would have boycotted Israel products and canceled diplomatic ties whilst Israel was unleashing terrorism upon the armless Gaza.


So don't be fooled by these petty political donations. This small donation is meant to give a political signal to it's muslim/Indian population "hey! see we care about your Palestinian muslim brothers", whilst they stab them in the back by giving Israel billions..

Well, I believe the person in the 2nd post said that "India is a Major power." That, I believe is the same as saying India is a superpower. Everything else you say, I pretty much agree so let's just leave this here.

After recent Israeli attack on Palestine India was the first nation who dispatched Aid instantaneously and it was welcome by Palestine with official words that ''India is the best friend of Palestine''. I will try to find the link ASAP if someone else can help i be thankful.
