India Expels German On Bribary for Engines

. .
Wonder why Eurofighter consortium is so desperate to get this tender.... it is not like it lacks customers.

.
Man that is news and I'm kind of surprised that there is so less discussion about it here, because it already hit a major procurement and might effect the EF in MMRCA too!
The report has several interesting points in it like:

Ask the arms bazaar how to swing an $822 million dollar contract, away from the clear favourit and they tell you how.

Wonder if that is his opinion, or based on the infos from his source?

...by planting misleading reports in the media, that Eurojet was in a wining position...

And who reported this?

Eurojet pips GE in LCA engine bid

Broadsword: Eurofighter edges ahead in MMRCA race: Eurojet pips GE in LCA engine bid

But most important imo is this:

after discovering illegally, that his rival american GE had a wining lower bid...
... von Schoenfeld was apparently caught trying to bribe defense officials, to replace the Eurojets comercial bid with a lower proce taged.

After the announcement that GE is the winner, it was indeed reported that Eurojet submitted a revised bid in the last minute, but that came too late to be considered.

Eurojet pays dearly for engine re-bid delay - Money - DNA

But if this news it correct, the reason to not consider it, should have been the bribery and not the delay right?

.
poor guy got carried away too far in seeing indian corruption that he couldnt self control

But seriously, its a good news he was caught as defense is not a matter to play bribery!

.
EADS is actually proving that its not professional company, first with trainer deal and then this.

.
damn.....not good for EF2000.
whats up with them.
with GOIs phobia of anything remotely scandalous, it will surely affect ef2000 chances in MRCA.

but the competition should definitely be transparent, devoid of any corruption.

Hi Dash, not sure if he was a consultant of EADS, or of the Eurofighter GmbH, but what do you meant with the trainer deal?

That's what I though too, the question is, would MoD reject the EF bid and ban them because of this?

. . .
Hmm Americans always snatch up orders of Europeans.American does not have to bribe usually as their equipment is one of the best equipment out there but with lot of strings.

Ohh my god......result of bad hangover:lol:

All I meant to say that these Eurofighter guys also are the same guys, along with BAE systems, where we had trouble in acquiring the Hawk trainers. HAL reported so many lapses from their side.

I can say there is a fear of strings like sanctions and other, howver the resent GEF414 engine deal for LCA tells me that this gap is reducing.
