landlords do not give a frugg to education because they have all what they need and more. plus western education hurts ancient bias, which is almost blasphemy for these ppl born with the silver spoon.
the mazdoors (mostly scheduled castes and dalits) cant afford education. even if they do, the children are not even allowed to enter the class. so they (the SCs/dalits) feel more hands is better than education.
the above is only a glimpse of the rot. there are many other reasons as well.
