Not really, inflation is a concern but if the oil pool account keeps rising, the government will soon be running an out of control subsidy bill. India is not the only country in the world using diesel, there is no particular reason to believe that our way is the only way.

Diesel is more expensive than petrol in UAE and almost the same price in European Countries.

I don't know whether you wrote this with a sarcastic under tone bcs its not true..it just like the London Black Cab..only the appearance doesn't changed, the inside mechanical underwent change many times. I think now they use ISUZU engine.

If I'm not wrong the Ambassador's market share has declined dramatically since the late 90s and this trend continues today.
