India Boycott Sri Lanka? India yet to confirm participation
of PM at CHOGM
The visiting Indian External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid today declined to confirm or deny whether Premier Dr Manmohan Singh will arrive for next month's Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
Mr Khurshid responding to a question on the issue at a joint-press conference in Colombo the Prime Minister's office India will make an annoucment about his participation at the event.
The visiting minister was asked whether he could confirm the particiapation of the Indian Prime minister.
"Our commitment to the Commonwealth is concrete and the CHOGM events are very important for the growth of the world governance. An announcment will be made at the appropriate time. The announcement will come from the Prime Minister's office. I am in touch with the Minister (Peiris). We will keep Sri Lanka posted."
