India becomes net exporter of power

Still few states due to deficit budgets are unable to buy electricity ,govt their are responsible for still uncovered areas.

Whats even better is that these govt's are getting booted out like in UP.

It is very strange for a developing countries to become net exporter in Energy.
Or maybe because lots of Indian people has no electric devices to use.

.
Indian government selling electricity at dirt cheap prices to neighbouring countries but won't provide it to their own people at much higher prices. WOW ghor chutiyapa hai.

.
wait i swear up till last year indian posters used to complain about load shedding

And you will hear starting right about now for few more months.

Summer started. Its a nation of billion plus. You do not understand the scale at work here.

Any source to backup the fact on prices aur just pure rhetoric?

India has come a long way. Remember visiting Kolkata in 1991 and the city suffered serious loadshedding problems. Now, India is exporting energy. :enjoy:

The Power Ministry on Wednesday said that India for the first time ever has become a net exporter of electricity. The Ministry also added that upcoming cross-border transmission lines with neighbouring countries such as Bangladesh, Nepal and Myanmar will only boost sales.

Around 5,798 units of power exports in April-February were 4% higher than what the country bought form Bhutan. Bhutan has been a consistent supplier of hydro-electricity since the eighties.

The government said that, new transmission lines with Myanmar and Bangladesh helped the country to sell more.

India, famously known for its crippling power cuts, has for the past few years been heavily investing on generation infrastructure. In the past two years, there was seen a massive surge in the local supply of raw materials, like coal, giving a helping hand to power companies for boosting their output.

Over 300 million people in India or 60 million households have no access to electricity.

It is a thing of past- Most homes in India have been give free electricity connection in past 2 years- By 2018 all will have electricity- It is due to geography(mountains, deep forest etc) in some places where It is taking time other wise most of India would be completed by 2017 end-

Also due to several Thermal Power plants coming up- J&K, Sikkim and Bhutan hydro-electric projects and massive Nuclear power projects along with 175 GW solar power to be completed in near future- India will be power surplus for a long time to come- and our rate is very cheap also-

Only Rs 3/Unit(KWh)- Where as Chinese I think are selling Rs 9-16/Unit(KWh) in Pakistan- It would be better If Pakistan also buys from India and saves money-

It is very strange for a developing countries to become net exporter in Energy.
Or maybe because lots of Indian people has no electric devices to use.

The weather in India where most people live is mostly good barring a few places- not extremely hot/cold so high energy items like AC/Heaters are not used as much- Also Low power appliances like LED bulbs/advanced Pumps are encouraged by Govt- Some places used of Solar on commercial buildings are mandatory- Also India is not heavily Industrialized-

Still few states due to deficit budgets are unable to buy electricity ,govt their are responsible for still uncovered areas.

Whats even better is that these govt's are getting booted out like in UP.

Some States mostly allow stealing from certain sections who vote for the ruing party and hence there is massive leaking- To compensate they charge extra from genuine consumers- even then they cant make It up and end up in looses-

To counter this wired power lines and digital meters are being setup in all places- It is not only safe but prevents stealing-

but few seconds ago you were net exporter of power.

There is a difference between power generation and power distribution.

What you pointed out is a problem with distribution. That, is being sorted out.

Still few states due to deficit budgets are unable to buy electricity ,govt their are responsible for still uncovered areas.

Whats even better is that these govt's are getting booted out like in UP.

Bengal is in the worst possible situation that way.

Their infrastructure is crumbling, corruption is rampant, hooliganism is the norm and in a humid, semi-tropical settings, they are power deficient.
