let us go into history for a sec......pakistan was all muslim majority parts of british india......but kashmir wasn't a part of british india....it was a princely state under british protection, hence it was independent to choose its side, but when pakis invaded kashmir, kashmir ceded to india and became its part.....do u have any counter claims????

yes, but it wasn't under the direct rule of the british.....only the states that were under the direct rule of british were to be divided....princely states were to remain independent or to associate themselves either with india or pakistan......kashmir chose to remain independent, and then pakistan attacked it...

As predicted the sudden heartbeat across the border increases. I am not wanting to dreail the thread and start talking about Kashmir - i mentioned it because it was in the post i was making a comment in. Kashmir is a big enough topic to put in 3 different threads so not good to discuss on here. I was relating to the hidden agenda and mindset the poster has against the owners of this site. If you guys think that hostility is one sided then you are delusional. If you guys think Kashmir is the only issue then i think you are wrong. I believe the institutionalized hatred in built into our population is deep and wish our leaders (or people we have appointed) could start removing the bricks off the wall.

Is it the American Pressure ? Where is kiyani ? It is he who had problems with India and he (or his stooge) will be there after Gilani is gone or Imran Khan is in (Kiyani got 3 years extension).
...I don't give much weightage to such news and would believe actions on ground than their words.

Remember:- Before Kargil misadventure by PA , there were series of goody-goody news ( Delhi- Lahore Bus, etc) , but PA had different plans.

The easy thing to do is troll along with you and answer to the above paragraph the same way you did and end it with some stupid lines using friendship, bridges,pray.

On topic Kashmir is the core issue to settle our disputes but I don't think Indians are going to let go a part of their country if that is what Pakistan is looking for, we are and have been and will be faceing road blocks on this matter,only way for word is for Pakistan and India to find a solution which is in between like opening up free trade,people moving up and down the two borders without too much restrictions etc.

India won't let a inch for others. already Indus water in our control then wat is the need to handover those lands to some other and risking our agriculture sectors in few states do u think v r damn fools???. Pakistan economy is predominantly based on agro economy so it feels insecure abt water resources which is controlled by India that y u people supporting kashmir issue. Bottomline is pakistan having no interest abt kashmiri muslims they need land and water that's it.

Okay so finally you're on topic. As long as Pak doesn't change the policy towards terrorism, I don't see any bridges. We're more than happy to build that bridge if you get rid of the terrorists. We don't have any other dispute.

Why is Kashmir even an issue anymore? I've talked to some Muslim Kashmiris on the Indian side and they seem perfectly happy with India, no one wants to join Pakistan. Realistically and logically speaking, why would they? Hell, why is Kashmir even an issue when we are not able to keep the lands that we have and supply our people with basic things such as "roti kapra makaan" ? To hell with Kashmir anyway, waste of time, resources and mental energy right from the outset.
