Increase in China's activities in Nepal, Pakistan threat to India: Uttarakhand CM

Expressing apprehension over China's involvement in activities in Nepal, Pakistan and Tibet, Uttarakhand chief minister Ramesh Pokhriyal today said here that there is possibility of a rise in China's dominance in India's neighbours which necessitates an urgent increase in vigilance along the country's borders.

"There is an increase in the activities of China in Nepal, Tibet and also Pakistan. We apprehend that there will be increase in anti-India activities on the Indo-Nepal border via Nepal, which will pose a danger to our country in the near future," Pokhriyal said.

"There is also apprehension of increase in ISI activities in Nepal via the Pakistan route," said Pokhriyal, who was in Jammu to attend a meeting of BJP's office bearers held yesterday.

He said the internal security of India's border states is directly dependent on "external factors" such as the situation in the neighbouring countries.

"Although ITBP and SSB are posted for the security of the borderline, there is an urgent need for a high degree of vigilance along our borders," he said in reply to a question on the settlement of people from China in Nepal and massive constructions of road infrastructure in Tibet.

"Uttarakhand shares it border with China and Nepal and shares 350 km of the LoC and 250 km of the international border with the two countries. There is a growing threat to security due to increase in the activities of China in areas bordering the state," he said.

Pokhriyal said he raised two major points on the security front with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during the internal security meeting convened by the Union home ministry recently.

"One point I raised with the prime minister was that there is no major ban on movement of people and goods from Nepal. Over 25,000 to 30,000 people travel daily via three routes into the country from Nepal," he said.

The chief minister of the hill state said China has also created massive road networks close to the Sino-Indian border upto the top of the Himalayas in Tibet.

"I told the PM that there is need for construction of border roads by us (India) on this side also," he said.

He said he told the prime minister that the national identity cards plan in the country should be started from Uttaranchal as a safeguard on the security front via the Indo-Nepal border.

"We will apply the national identity card plan to keep vigilance on the Indo-Nepal border as security measure," Pokhriyal said.

in next coming decade or so you will see some serious ISI achievements in Nepal and ground work is being laid already. Urdu speaking Muslim Nepali's are being recruited in a gulf country in full knowledge and co-op of host government under disguise of hired foreign labor.

On the other hand, ISI has rapidly dumped Bangladesh as its operation base unable to compete with strong Indian intelligence grip. Also the defection rate of agents in Bangladesh was very high seriously risking ISI operation cover and effectiveness.

These are insider discussions from influential circles so I cant elaborate much.

ISI has been shutdown from SirLanka under lankan gov pressure..or rather lankan boot up the GoP behind..now they are only operating in Lanka for counter terrorism and anti-smuggling efforts...post mumbai attacks scenerio has been particularly tough for ISI despite tall claims...failure in Bangladesh and boot out from Sri Lanka..thats why a new operational base Nepal was sorted out.

Indian army chief in Kathmandu, Maoists greet him with black flags | Asian Tribune

Kosh R. Koiral Reporting from Nepal
Kathmandu, 20 January, (Asiantribune.com):

Indian army chief Deepak Kapoor arrived in Kathmandu on Tuesday for a four-day official visit to Nepal at the invitation of his Nepali counterpart Chhatra Man Singh Gurung.

President Dr Ram Baran Yadav is scheduled to award Gen. Kapoor the honorary rank of General of Nepal Army amid a special function at the President’s Office, Shital Niwas, on Thursday evening. This comes after India President Pratibha Patil conferred the honorary rank of General of Indian Army to Nepal Army Chief Gurung during the latter’s visit to India last month.

The Nepal and Indian armies regard each other’s chiefs as the honorary generals of their own armies mainly due to their centuries-long close ties. The two armies have been exchanging goodwill visit since 1950 when the then chief of Indian Army, General Kodandera Madappa Cariappa visited Nepal.

The two army chiefs held a 40-minute long meeting at Nepal Army (NA) headquarters on Tuesday evening. It is learnt that they discussed about ‘security situations including the problems caused by the Maoists in India and other problems facing both the countries.

According to Public Relations Directorate of Nepal Army, Gen. Kapoor is scheduled to visit the high altitude military academy of Nepal Army in Jomsom, Mustang and the pension distribution centre of the Indian Army in Khara in Rukum on Wednesday.

On Thursday, Gen. Kapoor will visit the training centre for NA peace keeping training centre in Panchkhal of Kavre. He will meet with Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and defense minister Bidhya Bhandari in Singha Durbar the same day.

The visit of Gen. Kapoor comes at a time when the UCPN (Maoists) have taken strong exception to the General´s reported comments on the issue of the integration of the Maoist combatants into the national army.

Kapoor, as reported in some sections of the media, had stated that bulk integration of the Maoist combatants in the national army with professional and apolitical character would not be a viable option.

Indian Embassy in Kathmandu had refuted his remarks on the issue saying they were ‘distorted’ and did not reflect the official position of India in view of growing Maoist protests.

Upon his arrival in Kathmandu, the Maoist-affiliated Young Communist League (YCL) cadres waved black flags at Kapoor while he was being escorted from Tribhuvan International Airport.

Police arrested at least seven Maoist cadres involved in greeting Gen. Kapoor with black flags.

The Maoists also organized a corner meeting in front of the Indian Embassy at Lainchaur, which was attended by the central committee members including Post Bahadur Bogati, Giriraj Mani Pokharel, Ram Bahadur Thapa, on Tuesday afternoon.

The Maoist lawmakers on Monday boycotted House meeting, seeking government’s official position on General Kapoor's reported remarks on army integration.

So if you guys think that you will be working with the Maoist against the government stand than its ok. We all know that that you are famous for it starting from Afghanistan to Nepal to India. When was the last time when nepal was a communist country all together.
