Sometimes we boast about our countries based on this and that (GDP, GNP, industrialization, technical prowess). But we don't realize that there are desperately poor people living right here in the US in some areas in marginal conditions. This is a humbling lesson that even in the very lap of the most powerful country in the world, there are those who society forgot. This is what a full-on capitalistic society does. @jamahir bhai your comments.

The social safety net in the US failed these people (shown in this video) in Appalachia as far as medical care and food, if I could - I would help somehow, and return the favors and generosities I received as an immigrant to the US many years ago.

None of us grow big without the help and generosity of others - we should keep that in mind always.

Mark Laita's "Soft White Underbelly" channel is very eye-opening and I will warn those with soft sensibilities not to look into his videos on YT because at some level, they are more or less shocking. He highlights people on the fringes of US society, addicts, professional sex workers, LGBTQ people.

This specific video also shows in open detail what inbreeding does to your family, if the biological and clinical evidence wasn't proof enough.

By watching his channel, I have a new understanding of the realities in US cities, the ugly side of society no one likes to talk about, the stories for these fringe folks and how to honor people as rightfully deserving of human respect, regardless of what their less than optimal station in life is and how they differ from those who escape to suburbia to live in an alternate universe divorced from reality.

It’s not about education but a mix of limited opportunities to bounce back and situations that develop in a person’ life that relegate into poverty. The cost of living is so high in many places because there is a shortage of housing, that people can barely afford to make it on what is in effect (due to inflation) shrinking wages.

Well it's a huge misconception that in developed countries misery and poverty doesn't exist.
But unlike in the developing countries where mostly governments and lack of opportunities are mostly responsible , in developed countries people themselves brought that misery upon themselves. It's the use of drugs or in this case a stupid case of doing your mother, sister and inbreeding a sick upcoming generation.
You do drugs , you adopt a careless lifestyle and doesn't have a big money in inheritance , you will probably soon end up homeless on streets.

Plenty of inbreds in Pakistan going by that definition. Cousin marriage is an evil practice to follow

But aren't you going to get a distorted view since he is mostly ignoring minorities who tend to be the ones who really get short-shafted by society...unless that "soft white underbelly" isn't all white...which scanning the videos does show it tends to be mostly white-centric. (Yes, there are definitely some minorities too..and I'm not even going to post the Amanda ones)

Guys let's not start discussing the habits of people in particular countries or that of Pakistan. There are people choosing different lifestyles in every country. There is usually a reason why that lifestyle is chosen, like marrying a cousin. No need to judge, except when it does proven medical harm.

My angle was to pointing out that even fringe folks like these who are products of incest, deserve our sympathy and understanding. For them, the evolutionary path is often a dead end with no offspring possible.

There are Black and Hispanic folks in there too. He is based in LA and covers a lot of the local LA urban landscape and its foibles. Hard to tell with the black and white high contrast videos whose ethnicity is what, this is intentional, as it adds a gritty quality.

There are plenty, I have been to many countries and have never seen any population with such a high rate of deformities, most people attribute it to "black magic" or "the evil eye", the problem is especially exemplified as consanguinity continues generationally here.

The reality is many people were setup for failure when the self-proclaimed "do-gooders" decided to do drastic things in the name of pushing the US "ahead".

Things like air, water, and land pollution laws. Calling manufacturing "environmentally evil" and causing offshoring of non-skilled jobs with a happy "good riddance" attitude. The people out of jobs "can simply be compensated by an expanded welfare system". Plus we should send everybody to college anyway since everybody has a hidden potential IQ of 150 that needs to be magically released so they can get jobs as high paid doctors/engineers instead of simple menial assembly line workers or coal miners like their parents.

Well that fantasy didn't work out. The high paying jobs never made it to them and now we have a society of have's and have-nots.

Yes but the use of drugs is not as widespread here as in the west. The party culture here is not that strong which promotes drugs and careless lifestyle. I am not against party but moderation in everything is necessary. Some people in the west do it moderately some abuse themselves and suffer the consequences.
Also lack of family support in the west also causes people to do drugs , to cope with the depression.
