Ahem...
Its a proven fact that as soon as women join a group the "group intelligence" goes up.
And....group intelligence has nothing to do with an indivisual's IQ.
So "increasing" the number of women in armed forces might actually help the forces.

I am all for women joining the military, I am just against this happening through reservations or through the bar being artificially lowered for them. Women will perform just as well if not better than their male counterparts in the military (the technical services that is) and I look forward to seeing this.

If it was not about gender then why do you think women were not allowed to command a battalion till now? I know the batch of 2015 will be allowed to take over as commanders (if they 're efficient) but that's not happening anytime before 2032 or so.

They should be unbiased, i agree with that. Army usually have their reasons, i am not in a position to question them, frankly i don't understand the reasons either.I simply have theories..

I hate the idea of reservations for any group because I prefer a meritocracy but I agree that women (and all groups) need to be represented in all spheres of Indian life, police,military, legislature etc etc and 30% is too low, in legislature they should be 50% represented.

reservation is short term quick fix solution which can be detrimental in long term ...

but in a country like India ...women's reservation in legislatures is a necessary lesser evil ...

Well there is this eternal question that lingers on at home. I am in her words a":matka" just cuz i did my Mtec in IIT B. While she is a Btec from IIT K . she does not consider "matkas" intelligent.

I am also against reservation for women in armed forces. Recruit 'em only if they 're fit and efficient. But govt shld not stifle their growth within the organisation if they 're capable.

I'm an army brat. Got loads of uncles in the military with some in the PARA SF. One thing common they all say is calling army standards tough is a gross underestimation. These are not the watered down standards in EU for political correctness and weakness.

To all the liberals this isn't corporate life or a even an athletic meet. It's priming the male body beyond limits into a killing machine.
