ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar on Sunday said over 383,000 people were vaccinated in a day for the first time in Pakistan on Saturday.

The minister shared the update on Twitter, stating that over 7 million people have been vaccinated against the coronavirus so far.

"Alhamdulillah, a new record [regarding] vaccination was set in one day yesterday. More than 383,000 people were vaccinated. So far, more than 7 million have been vaccinated," Umar wrote on Twitter.

The federal minister further said that the number of registrants is also steadily increasing, disclosing that 11.663 million people have registered so far.

A day earlier, the NCOC had opened up walk-in coronavirus vaccinations for people aged 30 and above and teachers over 18 years old.

“Walk-in vaccination for teachers above 18 years of age is open. Teachers can walk-in to any vaccination centre with CNIC, a stamped letter from the head of Institution / Teachers’ ID Card and get themselves vaccinated,” the NCOC tweeted later on the same day.

A digital portal has been launched by the federal government for the registration through which a code is assigned to the person. They can then go to a designated vaccination centre and get a jab.

You can follow these steps to get registered for the coronavirus vaccine in Pakistan.

Where is the link to 1 million people per day claim ? I think that is not possible because we are importing vaccine in batch of 0.5 million each week. And we are also going to pack 3 million per month. This means our total monthly vaccine capacity is no more than 6 million per month. How can we administer 1 m per day ?

The government has done very well on the vaccination front. The two bottlenecks have been public willingness and securing supply, naturally. They have been working hard at securing supply but I'd like them to be a bit more active at quelling the nonsensical conspiracy theories against vaccination as well.

That is an inaccurate statement.

7.9 million doses have been administered. 2.1 million have been fully vaccinated and 3.7 million have been partially vaccinated.

its is said in an interview of Asad Umer and Dr Yasmin had also said that Punjab NCOC had given tast to all provinces and punjab has planned to vaccinate 400,000 people daily in Punjab only till July.

now you may calculate for whole Pakistan and Asad umar has also said we will vaccinate 70 million people till End of 2021.
further these 3 million per month capacity of Pakistan to produce vaccine is just a start and govt has plans to urgently increase the capacity.
plus we have started to receive vaccines under covax through WHO and we are late as US & UK is not providing vaccines as per agreement in covax Oxford had to provide 30 million vaccines AstraZeneca to Pakistan till end of june but has failed to do so.

Just 1.25 million recieved so far. We don't know when will they dispatch next consignment and how many. All I am saying is that we may be touch 1 million vaccination each day for 3-4 days but doing so on a daily routine for a month atleast is a task that is nearly impossible to achieve for a country like Pakistan which is too much dependent on many external and internal factors.

possible when we mostly rely on PakVac single dose vaccine locally made. plus US & UK are about to be 100% vaccinated and they will start exporting their vaccines.

"pakVac" was the Chinese vaccine we were packaging here in Pakistan. That 3 million doses. They now changed the name back to its original Chinese name. There is no locally made "PakVac". PakVac is actually CanSino
