The city has an overpopulation problem and such rhetoric from a political party head is not helping.

Imran Khan Janab doesn't know that Karachi is the bread and butter of Pakistan. You can already find work in karachi be it any one, no one sleeps there with a hungry stomach even though federal government cares less about Karachi.

But its a good initiative, because the more you invest in Karachi, the more it generates. Unlike in Punjab region, there the investments are done to increase the standard of living only. Hope he doesn't make false promises.

No it is not. Pakistan is the 'bread and butter' which ends up in Karachi for collection on account of being the only port for 200 million people. Every thing imported or exported goes through Karachi and that is entirely because of the geographic location of Karachi. Being as it on the perfect point of Indus Basin hinterland. This is something Charles Napier saw when he surveyed the city in 1840s after the conquest of Sindh.

Karachi should be Finance and trade Center as it was. The City is suffering from unemployment already. Recent figures suggest People are abandoning the City and taking back to their rural roots.

I hold import and export business, and I deal with traders in Karachi straightaway who have employed so many labour class and working class people. This is not possible in Lahore or even in Punjab.

My point was any one coming from other parts of Pakistan can find a Job in karachi and wouldn't sleep hungry. And that's why I called it bread and butter of Pakistan.

Before you make dumb posts, please get your specs on and read what I have posted. I said, there are more ' opportunities' in Karachi for all sort of work profiles, than in Lahore.

Although Sindh + Karachi falls behind Punjab when it comes to GDP reason behind that is ignorance of Islamabad.But ahead than Punjab in GDP (per capita) . That's why we have this thread for.
