big difference is that Imran Khan was against Pak army before getting elected, he toned down a bit due to action against NS, but now he's back to his original traits.
While NS became rouge after many years of rule.

Not to forget, Imran Khan has potential to make alliance with NS, if he feel threatened of any arrest, while NS always willing to have compromises with opposition.
