(source GEO NEWS) Imran khan supported govt's negotiation team and told TTP that they must nominate their own people to represent in talks with govt. I must say good decision by Imran Khan:tup:

Imran khan ki hawa nikli hoi hai abhi. Bohot bolta tha negotiation karo dialogue start karo, ab is ki bolti band ho gai hai

. . .
He should have accepted it, if offered

He has been speaking loudly over the issue since last 10 years or so. He needed to stand by the negotiating team and not sit behind and criticise the dialogue process on the first opportunity he is going to grab.

This would have been a turning point in Pakistan's history and imran may have been credited all over Pakistan for the breakthrough in the peace deal, if dialogue ever were successful.

The TTP is asking IK to be their intermediary so then why IK doesn’t want to be ? he after all has been very keen on talk with the TTP so now that he has a chance to play a role why is he backing away ?

Looks like even TTP supporters themselves dont trust them

.
State should negotiate, and IK is not the head of state.

yes but the thing is that IK will keep criticizing government for "not doing the right thing" and "if we were in power" so now that he is getting a chance to make a difference he should come forward and prove himself, if not than in my eyes and opinion he losses the morality to bitch about the process ....

So you say that anyone who thinks that we should negotiate rather than keep fighting an endless war is a Taliban supporter ?

This way he has the option to say, "Jub Taliban ne kaha tha 7:15 pe ana to wo 8:00 bajey kun pohnchay, yes koi tarreqa hay negotiation kerney ka, agar me hota to aik din pehley he negotiation wali jaga pe pohonch jata...eh..kum se kum hamain apni sincerety to dikhany chahey"

The emphasis of my post was mainly on why IK is backing out ? he was very keen on talks so now he had a chance to play a role so then why back out ? ... after talking the talk you got to walk the walk .. making excuses then raises suspicions about his original intent or perhaps shows that he never really trusted the TTP but kept harping about talks since that’s what a large portion of his vote base wants, he did what any other politician does, played to the electorate but deep inside even he knows the reality of TTP and he wants to stay clear, stand on the side and throw poo at the army and the sitting government
There is a clear pattern here.
We must have peace in Pakistan and work to get life go back to being normal, trust me it hurts me to see barbed wire and security checks all over Islamabad, especially when I have memories of driving around on those roads having a fun time in my earlier years, so yes we have to have peace and get life back to what used to be BUT we have to get to lasting peace and once and for all close the loop holes in our national security, as of now TTP cannot be trusted since they have shown no sign of giving up violence against the state.

He is not backing out from anything. From day 1 his stance has been to convince the Pakistani state to negotiate the TTP and end this war. If i remember correctly, he never wanted to carry the water on TTPs behalf despite what many of our Pakistani friends believe or like to believe. Since the GOP has caved into his narrative, he has expressed full support for the negotiations process and has expressed support for the govt. It is the GOP's job to negotiate not IK's, unless he was the PM and the commander in chief. At this particular time, he is acting as an opinion maker. He is just allowing the govt to do what a govt does!
