Not commenting on what the PM has said - but what is important is to remove widespread political and social support for separatists. Essentially, there are actual grievances on the ground both among the poor, middle and elite classes of Balochistan which fuel the dissent.
Unless those are addressed whether by political will alone or by changing ground dynamics and providing livelihoods that outpay support for terrorism - the terrorists will always have the edge and continue to exist.
Either follow the Indian or Chinese approach of ethnic and identity cleansing or educate and empower the locals with enough authority and resources that they are able to take control.
If Balochistan has more natural and mineral resources and it results in it being the richest province so be it. The people of the land will benefit from it and provide less support to such separatism.
Finally, unless the control of Pakistani Shia communities is wrestled away from Iran - Balochistan,KP and other places will NEVER be settled. Religious leadership in Pakistan has to be Pakistani in origin otherwise your society is beholden to one nation or another.
As for the usual repetition of “sell out” PM or Cheif or this and that - it’s happening in front of all the local members and their families and friends. Its them letting it happen along with the remaining 229 million. If they haven’t done anything about it other than letting the couple of hundred repeated corrupt fraudsters decide their fates for the past 70 years; I certainly don’t see what they can achieve today.
Have a lot of differences with the current PM but what he quoted is correct “no nation gets change unless the people change themselves”
