par Id object to following niamatullah's lead thing.. I saw his whole tenure and believe me, apart from plating date tree's along the airport bridge and a few dug open water lines.. I saw no change.
and MQM does need a change in leadership but its not just The fat bastard in London who has to go, its his top lieutenants too. The Nazim though is still the better guy and should be pushed up the ranks.And ull see the whole gangster view of the MQM just filter away.
I personally support Nawaz Sharif, I think he's wised up.
But you never know.. I do not agree with you on Mushy, I think he let power get too his head waay too much, and I don't believe in military rule..and because it is in Peshawar that our beloved president was drunk and dancing to a persons claps(Who can claim now that "President ko nachya hai") along with the corps Cmdr, Governor and another guy in a private gathering(saw it with my own two eyes, wanted to make a movie but then I wanted to live as well
). But then again.. we agree to disagree.
I never considered myself a mohajir or Urdu speaking or anyone. I used to identify myself as Pakistani, whether in Karachi or abroad. But two years in Peshawar changed that. I never met such animosity by a large percent of the population against their own country men(not just Urdu-speakers). While we do have ethnic tensions over recources, It is best they remain in the hands of politicians and policy makers about who gets how much. It should never filter down to the common guy and to one's origin or race. It doesn't show up so much in Karachi,Islamabad or Pindi, even Lahori's aren't prone to this. but while most of the people I met and knew in Peshawar are some of the most wonderful I met, To the extent I trust my life and my parents to them. It was also the case that every 20th person I met would only spew out discriminatory comments against the rest..Whether in the university,gathering or market. Its nothing short of utter disappointment at human behavior and more so irrational behavior which was not countered even by returning goodwill to such bias. And this is why it is against this particular kind of people which forced my change in viewpoint. Fight fire with fire, Hatred with hatred.
And btw.. the bus driver story.. It is the origin of MQM.. go ask Mustafa Kamal about it.
