IMF expects Romania to have the highest economic growth in Europe in 2016 and 2017

Are we included or excluded ?

Included.If my memory serves me right they've forecasted a 3.1% for Turkey this year.I don't know about other countries but in Romania's case ,in the last 4 years,their initial prediction was always well below what really happenned.They started the year with a 4.2% prediction,only to say it will be five now.I think that the year will end at a 5.1-5.2% as December is always the strongest month for consumption (Saint Nicolas,Christmas,New Years eve),so I don't see any reason to go under the 5.2% rise (year to year) we have until now.That is why I also am optimistic for next year and see growth at a 4.5-5% level if the IMF sees 3.8.

I looked at the numbers.

Romania (2016)
Q1 = 4.3, Q2 = 6.0, Q3 = 3.8, Q4 = ?

Turkey (2016)
Q1 = 4.8, Q2 = 3.1, Q3 = 4.0, Q4 = ?

Last year Q4 was 5.8 for Turkey..... i would say that it would be a close call....but this year...Russian crisis, PKK attacks, ISIS attacks, Operation in Syria, Coup......

Shouldn't title be be Highest Economic Growth Rate in Europe?

Large Economies like Germany, France etc will grow more but their rate will be lower according their economic size.

:tup: to Romania for economic progress.

Yes @flamer84 do it, or else Indians are gonna lynch you, :p:

BTW, is it true that Ethiopia has the highest economic growth rate in the world?

Edit: Ok, I was wrong, it is Myanmar, followed by Ivory Coast and Bhutan.

Interesting.

BTW, what do you think about the current Polish govt? Have some Polish friends and they are extremely mad at these "fanatics" (as they call them).

Due to this new abortion law there, many are seriously thinking to move out from there.

May be you have more insights?

Will that be good for Romania? Is Bucharest positioning itself as a replacement for London for all those multi-nationals, which will have to move out of London due to Brexit?

I know that Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Warsaw are already gearing up for that.

I actually support a ban on abortions but not that drastic like the Polish.Girls under 18 should be allowed to carry abortions, victims of rapes also,or mothers who have atleast 3 children.Ofcourse,you can't just issue such a law and say "Raise them !".It should be followed by investments on state orphanages for children who can't be taken care off by their parents, measures to financially help poor families to raise and provide education for their children.Feminism it's ok,but ,in Romania,Eastern Europe,we have appaling numbers with birth rates and population decline,women should do what nature intended for them.....give birth,especially if the nation needs it.

That being said,PiS,the party running Poland right now seems to be made off incompetents and nationalist clowns.They just suspended the abortion law due to protests,it even said that women who were raped must keep the resulting pregnancy.

Heaven't heard anything,it's election year this fall,everybody is fighting now,I doubt that our political clowns actually think of ways to profit on Brexit rather than to fight for their seats right now.

Romania actually grew at 4.8 instead of projected 4.2 (IMF Oct 20016 ) that's good.

I pointed out correctly it's up to him how he will perceive it as offensive or as a legitimate suggestion.

Not only this man, they went as far as banning Cesarean cut. People are quite p!ssed at these clowns.

This is what one of my Polish friends told me.

But anyway, interesting to hear some views from Romania.
