Its about rolling over 30+ b $
Infact net money is ZERO..we already owe IMF 5.8$
We simply agreed to terms that shoukd have done before..
The hit back will be inflation and high interests but you cant keep negative interest rate in wake of high inflation fueled by devaluation which was fueled by high state bank lending /printing notes which indirectly led to CAD

Very good point. Their is no stop to the ostentatious living of the elites in Pakistan. I sometimes compare the average living styles of a senior functionary in India and Pakistan, and find that these Pakistanis do live lavishly.
Also in infrastructure, I find Pakistan spending exorbitant amounts in pursuit of looks and aesthetics. Everyone would like a mercedes in place of a suzuki, but one should be able to afford it.

24 months and you are betting? this year 18b dollars are maturing this year, why not simply accept a 3 years IMF reforms and be done with it? is this the first package its the 18th..make it the last one..stop printing notes

The government had to make difficult choices to meet its prescribed commitment to get the IMF bailout. For example, it chose to maintain the defense expenditure due to the security situation while cutting down on other expenses combined with efforts to raise revenues by taxation. Everyone will need to pay their share of the required changes as decided by PMIK.

based on? if govt continues with CAD deficit trends for now its should balance the books in 3 years
issue is what happens next? will the govt go back on spending spree (like it did from 2016-2018) than yeah we will back to IMF/default ...
you can default any economy in 3 years if you spend more than you have..i mean any..
govt simply kept fiscal deficit above 6 with very high state bank lending

yup ..
but that wouldnt save you more than a billion rupees, probably it wont even touch a billion..for reference the amount of corruption in simple deals is in billions..

do even if the govt freezes all payments to all MPs its will just be a distraction..real problem lies else where
