IMF and Pakistan Reach Agreement on Pending Reviews Under the Extended Fund Facility

How Pakistan will survive after Imran Khan?

Musharraf got rid of all bad loans, but against him Imran Khan lead anarchy.

Yes musharraf time from 2005 to 2007 was best, but it took him 4 years to get there. But he started making wrong choices in 2007-08 because of elections, like not increasing the petrol prices to optimal level and racking up fiscal deficit but overall our economy was in a very good position. Then came the lost decade.

IK wasn't even a mainstream big politician back than. It was Musharraf own doing when he left these crooks live in the beginning, not to mention the relaxation in corruption cases to strengthen his control and the biggest of his blunders was giving NRO on America's insistence.

We need to realize America never cared for Pakistan, its own objectives is their aim. They will support monarchy when it suits their agenda or instigate arab spring. At that time they wanted to overthrow him and to achieve that they used the democracy slogan and NRO to achieve that. It can never stand an independent, strong and self reliant Pakistan, it is against their core objective in South Asia. They achieved their goal brilliantly by imposing on us a decade in which India grew leaps and bounds and now the disparity in economic terms as well as military is enormous.

Have you not figured out why American lobbyists are so close to ppp, or why the arabs support Nawaz sharif. They are their respective mules that gives them great influence and control over Pakistan.

That is internal plus external debt and the linked article itself says that it is 70% of GDP and is coming down as a percentage of GDP

https://www.thenews.com.pk/print/707446-pakistan-s-debt-liabilities-stand-at-106-8pc-of-gdp says that Pakistan's internal plus external debt is 106.8% of GDP and increasing as a percentage of

Who do you believe is the best person to replace Imran Khan?

Anyone can replace Imran Khan.... but replacement only should not be the goal.
He should be punished for deliberately hurting Pakistan and for patronizing smuggling and money laundering.
He should be made to pay all those billions, which he took from IMF.

Do not connotate stories just for the sake of argument.
Musharraf took over a bankrupt country and within 2 years he revolutionized it.
Per capita income shot-up every one became rich and than comes Imran Khan who started civil unrest, and rest is history.

Should the goal not be the economic betterment of Pakistan? Also should previous corrupt leaders of Pakistan not be punished too?

it will survive longer under Imran Khan that it would have had PPP and PMLN still ruled.

Ground reality says otherwise.... Imran Khan can't win any election without rigging.
Trust me, Public in street is not willing to believe Imran Khan a tiny bit.
All of Imran Khan's plunder buddies are now distancing them selves from him.

I never said no. It took him around 4 years from an economic perspective to achieve a turnaround but it was indeed a great start that's why I said need was felt to remove him, had Pakistan continued we would have been far better off right now. The other parameters might have been in 2 years.

Imran khan started civil unrest :D Bro he won just 1 seat in elections, it was kayani and dynastic duo that did that. Musharraf was actually a well wisher of IK.

and how will Pakistan survive without that money? also, its not like Imran Khan isnt distributing funds to help the poorest get through this tough time.

U mean how will the elite survive without that money? Yeah wow big deal 12000 per family distributed once that too many poor ppl ignored. So much money, i wonder is there any poor left after such a distribution lolz. People sitting outside are devoid of ground realities and judge based on media which lies all the time.

It's not for the elite, it's for buying petrol. You might not like what IMF is doing, and I do agree it's a devil, but when one has sinned a lot a visit to the devil is necessary. Do not blame the devil for your own sins as a nation. Without IMF you might have seen 35%-50% inflation based on what happened in Argentina.
Plmn signed up for IMF before they left, they knew there was no other way for what they have done was unsustainable.

When a daily wager sits home without work 12 thousand is a huge amount. Weren't you guys calling for extended complete lockdown?

then come up with an alternative economic plan that can theoretically produce better results than the current plan. or maybe we can follow your idea of going to war in Yemen hoping to find gold and fix our economic problems. you are just a spoofer.

nopes, tax the rich directly and stop with the indirect taxes already. Why should a poor day wager be forced to pay 10% tax on a mobile card recharge same as the person who is making billions. Why should a meager employee of some company pay income tax and a wadera who owns agricultural farm land pay zilch? Like it doesn't take a rocket scientist to sort out these things, the fact is rich don't pay taxes. They find loopholes, and their only success is in finding those loopholes. If my memory serves right Shabbar Zaidi once told a story about a businessman of Karachi, he was asked to invest in some business as there was zero or close to zero tax on that particular business, the businessman laughed and said no, a business without high tax rate means low profit margins. When asked to explain himself, he said if there isn't any tax how would he steal?

Rich don't pay taxes, its the truth all around the world but here in Pakistan it is more truer than anywhere else. One can see how the whole sugar crises went through, and that was with government subsidy like lol. A crop that isn't even vital, an item that could have been imported cheaply was give a subsidy and was first exported then imported. Yeah I bet we should look some where else like finding gold in Yemen.... Ohh, but he made a sugar commission and made the report public. I can bet same kind of bullshittery with new packaging will take place this or the next year too. sub ganda hai par dhanda hai ye.....

Well didnt this stupid moron of a PM claimed that there are more than 90 billion stashed outside and that he ll bring them back and that he will die but never ask for IMF loan again??? Well i guess his followers are even stupider than him and even bigger hypocrites. Fighting in yemen would have been way better than bending down to IMF and letting them penetrate u.

what are the alternative economic plans that would have given us better economic results? as for the IMF loan, if they didnt give it to us, then we were f*ucked.

yeah. lets solve our economic issues by joining the financial blackhole called the Yemen war.

That is absolutely true. What you are suggesting can't happen overnight, we need dedicated 5-10 years of constant increase in tax filers to move from indirect taxes to direct taxation.
2nd point regarding agriculture tax on waderas, currently I will not advice the government to put their hands in agriculture for at least a couple of years, bro these things sound good and are 100% true, but once the government puts it's hand in it expect massive revolt from agriculture sector, these waderas have long been manipulating market to their end and hold considerable say, prepare for a massive hike in food inflation. Have you not seen what sugar industry did when inquiry was launched against them? Have you read the sugar mafia report, what level of corruption and manipulation happens there? It's easy to blame the PM, after all he disturbed the hornets nest but the only thing he got was comments like this. Unless there is a will in judiciary and purge to dislodge the sold out judges expect no change.
PM is not the jury and executioner, he can only send the files to relevant authorities.

Why doesn't he bring back the hundreds of billions looted by old corrupt leaders instead of bending iver to IMF for mere 6 billion? Why did he let nawaz go? Why isnt he retrieving stolen money from zardari and co??? If he has to follow same steps as old corrupt morons then why we replaced them?
