Would you want your surgeon to be untrained, uneducated?? And yet you would want your "Legislator" to not only not be trained in the law, but to be entirely uneducated -- Even Mao would be embarrassed by such examples of vulgar "democracy".

Man this would be the last thing Pakistan needs right now.... Ask Indians how much we have suffered because of these illiterates.....

:) But muse in democracy you can not bar someone from standing for election no matter educated or uneducate.

isnt it ?

But under the rules of the game in Democracy, every ligitimate citizen of the concerned country can stand for election as well as vote.

You can not put restriction on participation as a candidate in a democracy on the basis of education.

If anyone wants a set patron then the same applies for the electorate, see howcome an un-educated person be able to choose the right candidate ????

See you are right to an extent

But at the other democracy can not be kept above the national interests. As seen from the past these people are more of trouble rather then of national use. There should be certain elements of education to be involved apart from being a citizen of a respective nation because at the end it is democracy only which suffers.

Regarding uneducated person right to vote. Let me give you an example. suppose i am a buisness man and i tell you about a buisness model which can change the face of buisness you can understand it to an extent though not from being in buisness field. But to design that model you need to have buisness expertise.

No doubt about national interests but we are talking about the "Democracy" in its real sense.
On the other hand about your model well frankly speaking votes are bought mostly by these so-called educated politicians.

Again honestly speaking in Indo-Pak, education merely means having degrees which are in many cases can be bought rather bought by many.

See with degress at least you are able to present yourself to an extent when you present yourself as people of Pakistan or India.

If you are not a finance guy how will you handle the finances of a nation.

On the lighter side I remeber something
One member of parliament was howling in the parliament that they will not allow a hydro power project in the neighboring state within India because they do not want water with "bijli" stolen from it....

It is sad that there is so much concentration by forumites on the individual “Members of Parliament and Assembly”

In a Parliamentary Democracy the reality is that the Civil Service runs the Country.

It is the Civil Service that tells the Cabinet Ministers as well as the various “Lobbies” as to the modalities of running the Country.

The “Members of Parliament and Assembly” need to be Educated, Experienced and Qualified otherwise the Bureaucracy will “run circles” around the so called “Law makers”.

Once these Law makers are found to be illiterate or inexperienced or unqualified then initially the Bureaucracy and then the Armed Forces will take over the running of the Country with the “Members of Parliament and Assembly” becoming a bunch of performing fleas.

.
Good decision

Then people wonder why Pakistan is suffering since its inception. When you elect illiterate people to hold sway over the running of the country; there is nothing but downfall for the nation. ***** log...

I'd rather have a educated President and Prime minister who can properly speak on an international forum rather than aa aa aaa aaa aaaa aaa
Fuckin feudals...

Well the ones that can read and write dont seem to have done a good job so whats wrong with with Illiterate candidates.......can they do any worse?
I would prefer a person that can read and write but if people vote the person in so be it.
Having people with only degrees that can stand is another method of the powerful rich minority to be able to have more control as they are the ones that can send there children to higher education while the poor can not.
