IK's Pakistan draws first blood: cartoon contest cancelled

At the end of the day Khadim sb got what he wanted. But more importantly, look at it this way:

Had the cartoon contest gone on, there would have been widespread violence in the Islamic world, including Pak. By baring his fangs, he forced the Dutch govt to back down. No cartoons, no violence. Win win for everyone.

Is there any difference between Dutch parliamentarian and Khadim Rizvi? If the answer is yes, then sadly I would have to equate you with two of them, if the answer is no, then why people have this habit of selective criticism, Rizvi this Rizvi that ........ none of you (who are supposed to be neutral in all this) have ever said a word against the Dutch Parliamentarian. Remember he is a parliamentarian and Rizvi holds no such post.

Previous governments were all tied up with protection of their own petty interests, local vote bank politics, reconciliatory politics to keep every crooked politician happy. This one is different, that's why Rizvi went away.

Agreed. Gerd Wildeers should be charged with inciting religious hatred. Govt of Pak should file complaints with ICJ (located incidentally in The Hague, Neth.) and with the EU Courts.

You cannot say they did nothing. They played their part under democracy and PTI played it's part under diplomacy. Simple thing Pakistan did it with a non puppet govt.

Side note:
All those who called IK was a yahoodi shame on you this yahoodi Khan did what no other was able to do. I was also one of the people who called him yahoodi in start. :(

maybe it made harder for few mummy daddy burger types + liberals, otherwise normal Pakistanis had no issues ---You are not representing the GOP, so don't claim that it made life harder for brand new government, instead we saw brand new govt side by side with TLP in press conference.

that fool (your words) has already got the credit ( and our govt. also), this will make him more popular.

The govt represented the emotions of people of Pakistan, i have personally seen this first time.

Simple thing Pakistan did it with a non puppet govt.

Do you recall what happened during the Danish cartoons episode. The then Yusuf Raza Gilani played local politics and never approached Danish govt. Result widespread violence, bomb blast outside danish embassy and almost 100 dead, widespread rioting and arsoning. This time, disciplined rally by Khadim sb and firm diplomatic action by IK govt.

(Mind you I am more a MNS supporter than an IK supporter, but wud like to give credit where it is due)

I am not a Nawaz supporter I am a Pakistan supporter. Difference between Danish and this incident was Imran Khan handled this with brain approaching the Turks then moving to oic and then building up pressure and turning this into a global event threat was what made Dutch retract because how Imran Khan was highlighting this soon there would be a dharna in major European cities if they fails to respond to Imran Khan. This would have made IK into a global revolution that was the threat. He was playing the right chess board for this all.

Our molvi plays with Islam , they even can’t unite on issues. You will never see Molvi and madrassa people on roads for protest against violations of human rights. Madrassa people are becoming liability for us, and burden on economy due to their negative trend, what is their contribution for Progress of Pakistan, how many of them are becoming engineers, scientists, doctors, fashion designers etc.
They are Useless and liability. We should throw them in Afghanistan, or bring them in same, improved & modern syllabus of other schools.
