Inspector General of Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salahuddin Khan Mehsood on Tuesday distributed bounty among officers of the Counter-Terrorism Department, KP police.
The ceremony was held in the IGP office. The officers were rewarded in recognition of their efforts to arrest the militants and Proclaimed Offenders on whose arrest the Provincial Government had fixed head-money. The Addl: IG Counter-Terrorism Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa briefed the IGP regarding the performance of the different officers.
During the ceremony an amount of Rs 10 million was distributed amongst 12 officers who received the head-money on behalf of their teams for successfully nabbing the 16 most dreaded militants.
It is pertinent to mention that these militants have been arrested as a result of joint effort of police and other law enforcing agencies.
Meanwhile, the IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salahuddin Khan Mehsood also awarded police and other law enforcement agencies officials who nabbed terrorists wanted to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police.
While addressing the officers, the Inspector General of Police appreciated their working, dedication and courage. The IGP said that it was matter of great pride for the whole force and especially for the awardees to nab such dreaded militants and directed them to further expedite their efforts against the terrorists.
He expressed full confidence in the CTD team members and advised them to challan the accused after thorough investigation. He further emphasizedthat proper follow-up of the cases in the courts should be made so that thearrested miscreants are convicted.
