It's not the responsibility of the Army to be ensuring elections are free and fair. That's the role of the civil administration, including police/rangers, judges, electoral commision.

People in this country involve the army in everything, then cry when they get power hungry and take direct control.

Who's stopping the civllian goverments from ensuring the police etc are properly trained and equipped to deal with internal securitiy issues? Who controls the police budget? Who appoints favourites in different policing roles as soon as they get elected MPA or MNA?

As I said, there's only so much you can blame the army for when the whole country is rotten to the core.

Are the police going to provide security. PTI needs to mobilize thousands of poll watchers with cameras to stand outside (at a respectable distance so as not seen to be interfering) polls, as well as silent observers inside each polling place, to catch if anyone if coming to rig the election. PTI also needs to mobilize its supporters to request foreign/international organization/UN observers at the polls.

Rigging and security threats need to be anticipated and planned for in both KPK and Punjab. KPK police (considering what happened to them) will be motivated to make sure elections will be fair and happen safely, but it’s Punjab the PTI has to anticipate the mostly likely chance of problems.
