If we fail to get majority, will sit in opposition, says Imran

Elections won't bring the required change. Imran is hoping he'll convince us by the date of the elections but he's deluding himself. PPP and PML-N buy votes from rural areas since they own vast lands

.
Why?
Who made them gods gift to Pakistan.. ?

And IK's biggest stumbling block in his quest for power is his incorrect support base.
He has the support of a large section of PUnjab and KPK's educated majority.. but has yet to connect on scale with the uneducated class who make up the majority vote.

His message may get through to the university student.. but it has not yet gotten through to the Patwari who controls the votes in his Tehsil.

Dear Its easy to say then done, I mean to tape Rural/uneducated vote banks………but without taping strong electable residing amongst them first or vice versa, bcz (barring exceptions) both of them acts likes conjoined twins due to the traditional combine interests on each other norms & abilities, neither accepts a change solely on its own, no matter how outspoken he stands to any political personality in a given place or time., in the end vote will only cast to most close family/cast/bradary relatives or to a person agreed upon in bulk.

No revolution or surgery could strike on this bond or traditions except a continuous refinement of its collective wisdom time after time through trial and error methods i.e. democratic process just like exemplified by our immediate neighbor successfully.

One thing more, military regimes could be a solutions but only for a short terms, just like steroids does to our body once, it could not be prescribed eternally, we are still witnessing the aftereffects of each past exercise as of now:coffee:

This statement and likes it others just recently, shows IK finally realizing realistically how deep the ocean stands, as his so called tsunami winds only deter a handfull of tall trees yet majority stays the course, Still there is a hope when assemblies will finally dissolves and fish became visible to catch openly but here too IK is not very much optimistic at this moment.

The sad part is that IK chose to target in his arrogance all those who could have been weaned away from the current "enemy" PPP and used to actually spawn change.
the MQM, the PML(N).. all could have been left along if not taken in public alliance.. and that would have taken the PPP out.
The PML(N) suffers from many evils that befall other parties.. but it was still a better hobsons choice for IK than trying to stand alone or weaning out used shells from these parties.

specially in pakistani politics?
still IMRAN is new bright shining star, of pakistani politics, with great knowledge of the world affairs!
if he could open up , closed doors of coliational politics, surly he is going far ahead from NS & REST OF PPP!

Kaira welcomes Nawaz’s statement on caretaker setup | DAWN.COM

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira on Wednesday welcomed the statement of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif over consultation with all political parties on caretaker setup.

Speaking to media representatives after inaugurating a painting exhibition at PNCA, he said that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) believes in politics of reconciliation and it was policy of Benazir Bhutto to take all political forces on board.

Kaira said that unfortunately there is a tendency of creating “conspiracy theories” over all political matters. There were speculations that the political parties would not be able to reach consensus on appointment of Chief Election Commissioner, but the political parties proved wrong with the naming of Fakharuddin G Ibrahim as CEC, he added.

“The PPP always stood for the appointment of neutral CEC as we always suffered due to rigging in the elections and appointment of Fakharuddin G Ibrahim was a very good step,” said the information minister.

He said that government and opposition were engaged in dialogue but no specific talks were being held for caretaker setup.

The government wants that next stage should be settled with the consultation of the opposition parties so that free and fair election could be ensured in the country.

To a question, he said that it was hoped that the law minister would brief the cabinet over the issue of letter to Swiss authorities and then the government would submit its reply to the Supreme Court.

He said that the apex court had issued directions to the provincial governments to hold local government elections.

Replying to a question about references against Sharif brothers, he said that the courts are free and all those who are facing any charges should appear before the courts.

President Pakistan Muslim League-N, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that strong political parties are the true guarantee to the stability of democratic system, and a vibrant and dynamic Muslim League will ensure a robust democracy and a stable Pakistan. Muhammad Nawaz Sharif expressed these views at a meeting of district presidents and general secretaries of Pakistan Muslim League-N from all over Punjab, here today. Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan Muslim League has performed many unprecedented feats, including strengthening of institutions in Pakistan, independence of judiciary, predominance of constitution and putting the national economy on the road to rapid progress. He said that although, during the previous elections, efforts were made to unjustly keep PML-N leadership away, and on the last day of submission of nomination papers, it could enter into Pakistan. Nawaz Sharif recalled that his nomination papers, along with that of Shahbaz Sharif, were maneuvered to be rejected, but despite such negative tactics, we faced the prevailing conditions with utmost courage, and got representation in three provinces of the country, whereas in one province the government of PML-N was established. He stressed that PML-N has always promoted the politics of higher principles and has rejected the politics of bargaining for the sake of power. He said that many principles promted by PML-N have now become accepted realities, which include restoration of judiciary, rejection of NRO, establishment of impartial election commission, setting up of neutral caretakers governments, evolving transparent methodology for appointment of judges, elimination of dictatorial sections from the constitution and galvanizing the role of parliament in the interest of national honour and dignity. Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said that, after elections within the PML-N, the leadership of the party has now been handed over to its workers, and now it is their duty to play their vigorous for the solution of peoples’ problems. He said that the workers and party organizations will have to play a fundamental role in selecting candidates of the party in the next general elections, for which they should start formulating their suggestions. He further said that it is the solemn pledge of every PML worker to work for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan, by rising above his personal interests and, instead of hankering after power, we should work for the predominance of higher values in politics and society. The meeting was attended by Shahbaz Sharif, Khawaja Asif, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, Ahsan Iqbal, Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Raja Ashfaq Sarwar and Jaffar Iqbal.

ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that PML-N is not making any secret deal with the government regarding formation of caretaker government.

Nisar criticized Imran Khan, saying that latter hurled stones on others while sitting in a house made of glass. He said Imran Khan is on the top of the list of people taking political u-turns.

The PML-N leader said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is a ‘test tube party’ of General Shuja Pasha. He claimed that PTI was made by General Shuja Pasha in the same manner as General Mehmood had formed PML-Q.

He said that PTI managed to get only one seat in National Assembly during the past 17 years.

but they keep deneying it!

Elections 2013- Anticipations and Realities

Muhammad Talha

With the next general elections due within a year or so every party has silently geared up its loins and are trying to promulgate their ideas to the masses. The year 2011 proved to be a turning point in the history of Pakistani politics when some significant changes were seen. Some parties tapered off whereas some emerged on the political horizon and took everyone by surprise. The public saw PML-Q going way down and PTI climbing the ladders high. We now have a veritable contest on our hands. The tangible political synopsis can only be predicted just before the elections when every party will be exercising the powers vested in them. For now, the scenario is moving towards a huge build up for the elections.

Punjab: PTI’s Chairman- Imran Khan paid a visit to JI’s head Syed Munawwar Hassan. Issues of common interest were discussed and the possibility of a pre-election alliance was also elucidated. An alliance of both these parties will definitely make things difficult for PML-N in Punjab.

In a constituency there are approximately 70,000 to 90,000 votes. PML-N has a very strong vote which mounts up to about 70% of the total votes. Jamat e Islami has a rather limited vote bank but still can’t be neglected. Since PTI has become popular now and IK has started enjoying a cult-following among all strata, it’s safe to presume that a PTI-JI alliance will definitely dent PML-N very badly. The fiercest strife will be seen in Punjab. With PTI and PML-N, both having their head offices at Lahore, they will be seen locking horns and you wouldn’t want to miss this one!

Sindh: The meritorious thing about PML-N is that it has also started paying attention towards Sindh. PPP, a party which has always tried to cash in the ‘Sindh Card’, will have to work really hard in order to counter the threat that has been posed to their vote bank in Sindh by PML-N. With many noticeable identities joining PML-N in Sindh, things will only get worse for the currently in-power PPP. MQM’s hold in Karachi (by whatever means) can’t be overlooked.

Within Karachi, they are a force to reckon with. They also have a fan-following in interior Sindh. PTI has also started its campaign in Sindh. Though IK is trying hard to claw votes in Sindh but the preponderance of PPP and MQM will not make it a doddle for PTI. A place where votes are being casted, not for probity and vision, but caste and creed, PML-N and PTI will have to do a lot of homework in order to harness PPP.

KPK and Gilgit-Baltistan: PTI is way ahead of other parties. If PTI joins hands with JI then it will strengthen it even further. PML-N performance in KPK has been extremely poor. The toughest rival for PTI in KPK can be ANP, but any chances of ANP pulling out a triumph are grim.

Balochistan: It’s hard to predict anything about Balochistan, because Balochistan has always experienced a coalition. Balochis fancy their regional parties more than any other party. At present, after IK dared to hold a procession in Quetta, things might change in the days to come. A wave of change was seen during the congregation. So, all in all, IK does seem to have an upper hand in Balochistan.

On the whole it’s really hard to predict the winner because the nature of Pakistani politics is very fickle. Alliances are made and broken at the eleventh hour. Also votes are being purchased and elections are being manipulated.

Let’s just hope that whosoever comes; works for the betterment of the people of Pakistan. He doesn’t pander to the wishes of someone else. He doesn’t merely expatiate on the miseries of common people instead of doing something in reality. People have affiliated great hopes this time around, and let’s see what turns out to be the decree of fate for them.

. .
Lagta hai teray saath kisi patwari ny raat ky andharay mein sahi bura kya hai doctor majboor.

Actually this is a shutup call to Imran Khan & Youthias who were targetting ECP credibilty and targeting state instituions without any evidence. PMLN should be credited for organizing free and fair elections without any violence.

Since Youthias lack logic and rely on memes they dont know that actually PMLN snatched 5 seats from PTI and lost 2-3 seats due to internal politics because all those 20 seats belonged to PTI. This means PMLN will retain its seats and snatch some PTI seats in General Elections

Again this time PTI Punjab government will be formed with even thinner majority of only 1-2 seats.

Some battles are lost to win WAR - Youthias will never understand this.
